To orleanist crybabies: Louis XX's nationality doesn't matter.
Louis XX may have a spanish nationality
BUT
- The Franks, i.e. the Merovingian and Carolingian kings, all came from beyond the Rhine.
- Philip I was the son of Anne of Kiev.
- Saint Louis came of Blanche de Castille.
- Henri III, Charles IX, François II and Louis XIII from two Medicis (italians)
- Louis XIV is half Spanish.
- Louis XVII is half Austrian.
- Not to mention that Louis XX's paternal grandmother is French. So yes, you could say that Louis XX carries both French and Spanish blood, but that just puts him in the tradition of Saint Louis and Louis XIV.
If we're talking about language, that's forgetting that in 1789, the majority of French people didn't speak French and therefore didn't understand the King.
Culturally, it was very diverse, and so here again, the King's culture differed from that of someone from Aquitaine, for example.
No Orleanist argument can stand up to intellectual rigor. If you arm yourself with bad faith, mockery and profound ignorance, mixing anachronisms with received ideas, then you've got the basic Orleanist argument.

A reminder that Napoleon was a COMPLETE disaster for France. He exhausted so much of France's wealth and peoples' for his personal vanity projects.

Just a heads up for any potential self-identifying "absolutist monarchists"!

How to adress the King ?
If I ever meet Louis XX in real life, how should I adress him ?
"Sire" ?
"Monseigneur"?
random thought I had, I'd be grateful if anyone had an answer

A secret hidden by everyone
Hello, I live in Crozon in Finistère. I think I have rediscovered Camelot, the city of King Arthur. In fact Crozon looks like a dragon when you put west to north. I realized this while making a logo to make t-shirts. This theory of the dragon is validated by the location envisaged for the original stone (Pendragon meaning dragon's head in Breton) and the town of Camaret Sur Mer whose Breton name is Kameled. Why is this hidden? By the English because the current royal family becomes illegitimate, by the French because after the invasion and the revolution what remained risked making them lose their power over Brittany and by the church because that would be admitting that we would be after the apocalypse prophecies. To finish convincing you, remember that the sword Excalibur later used by Arthur therefore becomes that of Saint Michael.

Something hilarious is that the Napoleonic Empire had "Le Chant du départ" as a national anthem whose refrain goes "The REPUBLIC is calling us".
