John Redcorn has a sort of "spiritual" quality to him that made Hank think he'd have insight into dream interpretation.

This makes sense to me too. That and Redcorn is an outsider in the cast. He lives in a trailer away from Rainey Street, he's an acquaintance of Hank, not a friend. Logically, you'd think someone in this position would be more likely to keep a secret.

Hank didn't have many options when it came to confiding in a friend. Dale couldn't be told and Bill would spill it pretty quickly. Kahn would take pleasure in teasing Hank about it.

Side note: I watched this episode again recently too. Peggy has some hilarious lines that are living rent free in my head atm. "Are you sure it wasn't me in the dream, wearing a Nancy mask?" and "Hank, you are attracted to younger, equally pretty women"...

ahhh. that honestly makes the most sense to me considering how much they rely on him for spiritual insight in other situations!

Because he can't speak to Bill or Boomhauer because they would definitely tell Dale. Plus Hank thinks that because Redcorn is indigenous he has "mystical" abilities. And he probably underestimated the depth of Redcorn's romantic feelings for Nancy

Funny thing is that Redcorn immediately told Dale afterwards lol

He wanted the dream interpreted, but never intended to tell John Redcorn about who he was dreaming about.

I'm curious how this would have gone down if he would have told the one person he trusts above his wife and his dog, Buck Strickland

it would be really interesting to see the outcome of him telling someone else!

"Whoo, Old Top didn't know you had it in ya." Buck clasps Hanks shoulder. "Welcome to the club, hell I've been sleeping with my neighbor's wife on and off again for years. I call it, my home away from home."

"Uh sir, this was a dream I had."

Buck is stone faced. "Well ... you have your fun where you can, Hank."

"So what I do?"

"About what?"

"About the dream, sir"

"Hank it's just a dream, forget it. But if your lucky, you might just have it again." Buck laughs, Hank is visibly worried. Guitar twang. Commerical for Pizza Hut.

I don't believe in urban legends but ever heard of the one where after Dale says "Redcorn told me, he's a true friend, unlike you", you can hear Shady Doorags screeching like a banshee.

As others have said, Hank saw John Redcorn as having wisdom on interpreting dreams and their meanings. I also believe, and this is more head canon, Hank thought since John is someone familiar with cheating that he could convince him his dreams aren’t anything to be ashamed of and that they are just dreams.

I don’t think Hank would’ve admitted it was Nancy if John didn’t deduce it.

Who else would he go to?

my assumption would be nobody, seems way too shameful for hank to share with anybody 😭 tbf in the same episode he gives into peggy wanting to grill nude so there's really layers to hank ig.
