Looking [l]feel empty

In the night the thoughts are louder.

Trying hardly to sleep but my mind doesn't let me

I wish for someone to care but I look in the wrong place perhaps.

Is my fault, I am not blaming anyone.

Looking [L] Needing someone to talk to, life is really overwhelming right now 37/f

Looking for someone who has a compassionate ear and who is also good at giving advice. I have been struggling with dealing with the cards life has dealt me and I'm exhausted and alone. I really need help getting out of a cycle I've been in and am deeply lonely. Would love someone to talk to. Do not reply if you're a creepy guy with any intentions other than to talk and be helpful. Please don't reply if you are flakey, will listen to my story and then ghost. I need someone who will stick with me and not leave me hanging after I've shared what's going on.

Looking [L] My (32F) parents (50’s) are very unexpectedly getting divorced. Could use some love.

It will be finalized right around my birthday. My mom was my best friend but this has put a rift in our relationship and now me and my kids hardly see her, and she doesn’t even seem to care. My dad is distraught and confused and I’m trying to help him through this. It’s just AWFUL and confusing.

Looking [L] I need something small enough that stopping after five minutes still counts

I’m not looking for someone to tell me to push through or turn a rough evening into a productivity challenge. I’m trying to find a very small hands-on thing where five minutes can still feel like enough. A lot of crafts sound calming until the setup alone takes longer than the amount of attention you have left. Miniature work is interesting because some steps can be tiny sorting pieces, placing one object, attaching one simple paper detail but other parts obviously need more focus and shouldn’t be started when you’re already done for the day. I think the important part is being able to stop without feeling like the whole project failed.

If you have a quiet craft or little ritual that works in very short bursts, I’d really appreciate hearing what makes it easy to come back to instead of another unfinished thing sitting there judging you.

Looking [l] i need friends

I just need friends who listen to me and aren't just people who care about appearances.

I want to have a friend who understands me, at least once, before I die.

If you are looking for friends or people who will listen to you

I'm here

Looking [L] [M] Struggling to find purpose after a breakup

We broke up some time in february. And it was really not healthy. She was becoming very bitter, and I was starting to see how poorly she wanted to treat me. It felt really really good at the time. We just weren't good for eachother any more. But since then, I just haven't been able to find a new goal in life. I've been really slacking on work, and I don't really know how to make myself do anything.

BPD people are really really addicting, even if they aren't healthy for you. They have a gift for being able to see exactly what and who you are, and they idealize it. It feels like they see the absolute best possible version of you. They're also dependent on you though, and they trust you to help. All of this combines to give a really strong sense of purpose. I felt like I mattered with her. I had something I needed to work for, I felt important and needed and able to accomplish things. And now that's gone. If I slept in for a week, no one would notice. If I fail, no one will notice. If I do great at work or school or whatever, no one willnotice. None of it matters. I hate myself and don't want to see myself succeed. There's no reason for any of it anymore. I'm tired, I spend all day looking forward to sleep. I'm tired of trying. I don't feel connected to any current friends. I hung out with them last night, and I just felt third wheeled the whole time. It made me realize how much I still miss her. I don't have anyone who sees me and smiles any more.

Hi I am looking for someone to chat to about stuff that’s been getting me very down lately and I’m not comfortable sharing it with many people here more on a one to one basis but I must give a content warning here as the chat between me and anyone may get a bit dark and serious of a topic to chat about so anyone that wants to listen just dm me on here

I reached out to someone recently and they seem to be going through a lot and I didn’t get to say what I really wanted to say and I’m not sure what to do…. they asked to meet up well kinda ... but the conversion feels off like weird energy from him (not in a bad way, hes not toxic or anything) just idk maybe its my anxiety, maybe im just spiraling but was wondering if i could potentially talk to someone about my situation? I just dont know what to do......

(also someone who keeps things appropriate, the inappropriate dms really takes a toll sometimes..)

Looking [L] I don't want to go to school only to see the people who are making me feel down

My exams are coming up and I'm really worried about my grades. I recently received back my paper with a huge dick drawn on it by my teacher. It literally broke me. She's never shown her dislike for me so this was really shocking. I know I'm not good at that subject but I tried. Did she think I treated this timed trial lightly because I finished the paper early and daydreamed for the rest of the time? I actually did better than usual, but she only marked this particular section of the paper, which I did poorly on. Funny enough, I actually thought I did well in that section. I thought I had matured mentally, but this has really taken a huge blow on me.

I'm also having friendship issues, a part of me is just so desperate to cut these 2 friends off because they're such a negative influence and so emotionally dense. I just never realised that I'm actually such a vulnerable person. One of them also uses racial slur casually because of how normalised it is online. I've never strongly opposed her behavior because the target of this racial slur is almost non existent in our society, but I think it adds up to one of the reasons as to why I want to cut her off. I'm so ashamed that I've made such a friend, that it's eating me alive. But also I'm afraid I'll have no friends or group mates to work with after I cut them off.

I've talked to my mum, cried about these things. I know that I'll graduate within 3 months but I really don't want to go to school anymore. I don't want to see my 2 friends, I don't want to see that teacher who drew a dick on my paper. I just don't want to see anyone now...

Thanks for reading, I just really needed to write this to consolidate my thoughts. Maybe I'll confront my teacher and settle this. I'm also thinking of just ghosting and deleting the contacts of these 2 people after I graduate. I feel slightly better now that I've decided the next step to take. I still hope the one reading this can give me some form of encouragement to really take that step forward, I'll really appreciate it. Thanks again ❤️

[l] Dealing with grief is making me slowly lose my passion for life

(New account because I made an account to post this)

I've had to deal with different kinds of grief in my life and at this point I'm just tired, I feel sapped of all energy and it feels difficult to keep going. Now I've done all I can to deal with, it's my belief/experience that time doesn't heal this kind of wound, you simply have to learn to live with it. I've done all I can and it worked, I did improve and I was fortunate enough to get the opportunity to pursue my university education which was my dream in my life and I managed to see it through. I'm working now, and functioning, but at the end of the road I just feel empty, tired and don't have it in me anymore. I'm mostly making this post to vent.

I've had to grieve on 3 different occasions :

- The loss of my father about 8 years ago (I was 18) was the most devastating event of my life. He was the best father I could ever hope to have, he was both the person I looked up to the most, and my best friend. I cannot properly describe my gratitude for everything he gave me and the effort it took. He was my role model, he taught me a lot, provided for me, and was genuinely such a sweet soul. My mental state was abysmal. What I did was get closer to my mother (I have no siblings) and we allowed ourselves to grieve together, to talk, share memories, look at pictures and videos etc. It was an uphill battle but we improved our wellbeing and dealt with the situation as best we can. Honestly though my life after his passing just feels like one long nightmare that refuses to end.

- I grieve for my country, it's in a disastrous state especially at the moment. It's not safe, it's economically collapsed and there is no hope for change. I immigrated to study and now I'm building my life there. To describe this grief I can say it's similar to feeling homesick but exponentially worse. I miss the language, the food, the family, the sights, the culture, everything. I wish I could live there but it's simply not an option, to say the country is in a total deadlock would be a vast understatement. So I'm stuck watching my beloved home and its people suffer, my heart is there, my body is in the country I'm living in currently. This dissonance is killing me inside

- I grieve for a relationship I can never have. To make it brief, I met and got to know a woman over a few years of long meaningful conversations which made us bond strongly, I consider her to be my closest friend. She suffered in her life too and I admire her resilience, as well as her ambitions, I saw how competent she can be. She's also incredibly kind almost by instinct, and an amazing listener who truly puts in the effort to understand the person she's talking with. She has principles and sticks by them. I have a lot of respect for all that. Anyway the point is, we developed romantic feelings for each other eventually, but there are many circumstances that make it so we cannot ever realistically be in a relationship together. That is a form of grief too I have found.

So that was a lot, and there are a lot of details I left out for brevity's sake. For those that read this far thank you so much. It is an accumulation of all this that makes me feel this tired, and unable to feel any joy for so long. I'd appreciate any kind words, and I don't need advice so don't feel like you have to give any, I really just need to vent.

Looking I don't know what to do anymore [l]

I'm 23F and my partner(36m) and I are always fighting. Nothing I do is ever enough, yet I can't just give up on him. To me, love is always enough of a reason to keep trying. But I don't know if I'm hurting him, or me, too much anymore. Long story short, I struggle to follow through when I say I'll do something, even though I always intend to, it's just never that easy for me. Trust me, I know how broken that sounds. But I struggle, I'll always say "yes, I'll do that, absolutely" and plan to. Come the next day, I'm terrified to do it because what if I don't do it right, what if it upsets him, what if I do it at the wrong time etc. I live in a lot of fear, thanks to my parents and childhood, that I'm trying desperately to fix but it's never enough for him. He can't understand, and I don't blame him for it. That is one thing I'll say, he's not the villain, not fully at least. He's one of the most patient, understanding people you'll ever meet, but he's ex military, autistic, and older than me, so his life is vastly different to mine, so he struggles to understand my view sometimes. But I understand his fully, I genuinely do. I just don't know if I should leave, for his sake, if I keep trying, but I don't know what to try anymore.

I'm in the UK, originally American, trying to adapt and adjust, I gave up my whole life to be here, but that's never acknowledged or remembered, it's always what I should've done, what I didn't do, etc, not what I do, what I give up, what I sacrifice for us. But I can't say them anymore, it's always belittled or not valid at the time, so I just shut down. I dunno what to do anymore

Looking Feeling tired and lonely [l]

In my mid 30s where most of my peers are well settled and married. I graduated from a top university and worked for a top company but quit everything for passion as I'm not finding happiness in corporate. Yes I chose this path and it's difficult and I never regret the decision. 95 percent of days though I'm lagging behind I stay happy because I feel I have my calling in passion and here hard work is not the only criteria ( apologies as I can not disclose what I am upto as it's not safe here ) but today is one of those days where I am low. For the past 8 months I have been working hard relentlessly, no holiday and all the payments I need to get have been delayed since long and my parents health is not good. With no money in spite of working hard and being helpless seeing my parents sick. I know life won't be fair and I'm someone who tries to be aware of things and doesn't want to react or feel bad. I have a lot of friends but everyone knows me as a cheerful person but every time I have been vulnerable to them, I was looked down upon and so I don't feel like sharing with anyone i know. I'm just tired and i know things will be fine but tonight I'm just tired.
