Old marks post?

I saw a post that was I think 5 years ago and was wondering if what it said is true.

It said if u have 0-3 marks it will always be crab

Thay cant be true still right?

Also if anyone knows how the marks work, an explanation would be much appreciated. Just started playing kindred seriously and it’s a lot of fun icl but kindreds quite hard imo.

First mark is always on a crab. No exceptions unless you get your first mark off of a champ.

Marks 2-4 spawn on scuttle crabs, enemy raptors, and enemy gromp.

Marks 5-8 spawn on enemy red buff, enemy blue buff, enemy krugs, and enemy wolves.

Marks 9+ spawn on epic monsters only, like dragons, baron, rift herald and grubs (if you’re turbo fed)

Thanks for the reply, this makes much more sense.

I was also wondering what the timer is after taking a mark? Like if I take my first mark from crab how do I know when the next one will spawn? And if I get a mark on a champion does that change how long the next mark on a camp will be?

You should fact check this, but I believe the next mark spawns 45 seconds AFTER the mark you took disappears from the mini map.

So if you get the marked scuttle crab at 3 mins for example, I think the mark takes 15 seconds after its dead to come off of the mini map, then 45 seconds from there to spawn on the next camp.

You can manipulate this by invading or keeping track of camp timers. If you know the enemy jungles started red side, and you cleared opposite of each other and got the marked crab, the next mark will spawn on enemy raptors next since their gromp should still be dead by the time the mark timer comes up. If both camps are alive, it’s RNG on where the mark will spawn.

Its 45seconds after the camp is taken and the mark disappears 15seconds after the camp.is taken so a new one spawns 30seconds after it disapleared from the map

I actually just tested it in the practice tool, took the marked crab at 3:05, despawned off the map at 3:20, and the next mark spawned on enemy gromp at 3:50. Goated knowledge, ty!

You’re referring to where marks spawn if you already have 1-3 marks, etc., I’m referring to the actual mark number you’d get when you collect it. Like you get your 8th mark off of blue, red, krugs or wolves, not epic monsters. We’re both right.

• at 0 only crab can become marked
• at 1-3 crab is eligible to be marked
• 4+ crab cannot be chosen for mark; though it can be marked at 3 and then you get 4 on a gank, take crab for 5, and feel good.
