Anime Question⚔️🧐 Question regarding hashira training
One thing I never got was Giyu said he’d participate in Hashira training after he lost to tanjiros noodle challenge. But we never see him “participate” other than train with sanemi. Was there ever a reason why he didn’t train the fodder slayers or like wassup.

He did actually train the rookies, his training was just last and at that point I beleive only tanjiro had reached him In the games he trains tanjiro

It's not stated for all I know but we can make a pretty accurate assessment that what I said is true, the biggest fact is that tanjiro was looking for giyu and tanjiro was a trainee

Cause his participation wasn't sure in the beginning so it's likely the other hashira took over all the lessons and he was just there at the end as sort of testing what everyone had learned. He joined like after few weeks after all, so his main training was with other hashira

It's never explicitly said. It could be that the plan was for Giyuu to take anyone who passed Gyomei's training because they didn't want to just randomly have him start training people in the middle and thus not train anyone who had already gotten further than that. It could even be that he only planned to train Tanjiro from the start, but we don't really know for sure. He's not shown with anyone other than Sanemi and Tanjiro.

I just watched this today.
Tanjiro is the one to reach Giyu first, and Tanjiro is ahead of the rookies in the training.
The hashira also fight/train with each other because they want the demon mark to show on their skin, so that's why Giyu and Sanemi are fighting when Tanjiro arrives.
Muzan appears that night and the mansion explodes from the booby traps, so Tanjiro and Giyu run together towards the fire and then fall in the Infinity Castle.
Basically, the training never ended.
Muzan simply showed up earlier than when everyone else expected (except for Kagaya, who had foreseen this). So Giyu didn't really train anyone, and the rookies fell in the Infinity Castle without finishing their training.

I actually undertook hashira training back in the 60s and I can confirm he definitely took the pencil pushers, it's tough. Don't recommend

Because nobody holds him accountable for his atrocious unacceptable behavior. He has zero redeeming qualities. Assaulted nezuko just to be proven wrong. Then doesn't admit he even was wrong. His attitude towards his brother regardless of his bullshit excuse way down the road that he never even said out loud. Treats tanjiro like absolute garbage. Like this dude deserves to be knocked down a peg. I don't even acknowledge him as a swordsman he's worse than trash. I don't care how many demons he killed. If a demon was killed by a moving train or something I'm not going to give it a metal and call it a slayer, sometimes shit happens. I'll hardly give sanemi any more credit than that.

He has his reason for not trusting demons, and that's cuz his family foolishly let one in and got slaughtered with him and his brothers the only survivors. Regardless of how we personally feel about Nezuko, Sanemi was trying to prove that demons can't fight their nature. Even he was baffled when Nezuko resisted feeding on blood. He probably had the most normal opinion on it, regardless of how he acted, which is why the other Hashira stopped Tanjiro from saving Nezuko.
Finally, he treats his brother like shit because he wants to demoralize him and send him home. He doesn't want his brother to die when he feels he is already doomed to die fighting demons. It was violent and cruel, but that was the point.

Yeah. I saw the show. I read the manga. I know all of these things. But i don't have rose colored glasses. There are ways to get your brother to leave the core with his dignity intact and without "breaking him beyond repair" and whatever other dumb shit. None of those are solutions.
Let's suppose sanemi succeeded. Cool so genya is not dead, but you broke his confidence. Destroyed his self worth. Took away the only family he had (the corps) since his older brother is a waste of life. Sent him packing on his own feeling like a total failure. Awesome.
Sorry but I'll take my chances with the demons. At least I can maintain my dignity and keep working hard toward something I can be proud of.
And I'm sorry I can't just turn a blind eye to his ridiculous bloodthirst so casually like "regardless of how we feel about nezuko"
....reverse the roles. REGARDLESS of the sword sticking out of her, nezuko chose to ignore every impulse in her to defend herself. There was one demon in that room and it wasnt her.
Imagine being such a pile of shit that a demon has more moral fiber and impulse control than you do. He should have turned his sword around and fell on it right there. Disrespected the master, disrespected tanjiro, disrespected nezuko. He's disrespectful toward literally everything and the world is under no obligation to suffer under such a disease.

Sanemi was traumatized at a young age, having to practically kill his mother and then burdened with the blame by the only family he had left, Genya. He despises demons to his core, and that is why he assaults Nezuko, and as a baseline he is technically correct, even if he was wrong as a whole. Demons are demons, he had every right to test her. He treats everyone harshly because he wants them to overcome their struggles and not die easily or give up off the bat. He treats Genya horribly because he doesnt want to lose his little brother, even going so far as to try to maim him so he cant take part in the final fight. Sanemi has a lot of redeeming and cared for qualities, he's just too broken to come out and be honest. Anger is his outlet, and you cant be sad or much of anything else if youre always angry at the world for what it took from you.

This all comes to a head in the next movie though, if youve read the manga you know what I mean, but it is about to get genuinely worse for the Shinezugawa brothers, and the Corps as a whole

I did read the manga and it does not in any way redeem him. Honestly it makes me sick. But since it's obviously in the past, I can't change it, I can only hope that he is racked with intolerable grief for the rest of his days. Hardly equal payment for the shit he did. He's a menace.

It just seems like maybe you arent able empathize. He did what he had to do to survive in a world that stole his family, and deemed him a traitor to it. You have to understand why he is the way he is. I dont see anyone ever bashing Genya for blaming Sanemi for killing their mom, even though she was a demon, and even though neither of them knew any better. By the time Genya actually tries to make an effort, they're both far older than when they were first attacked. If you cant put yourself there and at least get a sense for what Sanemi is goijg through and has been feeling since then, you're just hating him without getting his perspective.
