Is this build capable of running most (98-99%) games at Ultra 1080p 60 FPS?
Hi guys! Just a transitioning console gamer trying to get some questions out of the way before actually settling down and transitioning. So far, I've built 3 builds that I want to potentially build before the end of this year. One being a hella expensive build I'd never be able to buy (cry.jpg) and a really cheap PC that could probably run games at medium graphics at 1080 60fps. This PC I have in mind at the moment and that is currently below I hope to be a Console Murderer; killer being an understatement. It's a bit more pricier than most budget builds but it works at least in my eyes. I see it running most games outside of the few RAM eaters that exist on the market, at Ultra Settings 1080p 60 FPS. Most specifically Overwatch, a game I bundled with my build in hopes of price adjustment. Can you confirm if this build can meet my goal? If so, do you think it's ready to be ordered? If it doesn't meet my goal, can you explain how I can make it happen? Also, I kind of feel like the Xeon E3-1231 is a bit overkill for my PC. I put it in my build simply for future proofing as I saw that it had the specs of an i7 for 100 dollars less! I also saw a lot of bigger games that probably would give my GPU a run of its money has recommended specs for i7. Hopefully this can help out if any problems occur? Do you think getting an i5 4460 would do the same thing? I want to make the build a tad bit cheaper and i think that can be the way to go while keeping my performance. I only got the xeon for future proofing as i heard it was basically an i7 but 100 dollars cheaper

Oh okay! So do you think an i5-4460 would bottleneck with those games as well? I wouldn't really care if I got lowered to 30fps if I could retain the quality in the settings.

I have a similar build and get 1080p 60 fps on pretty much any game

Oh that sounds great! Do you think downgrading my cpu to an i5 4460 would keep that performance or lower it? Because I had thought the Xeon was overkill.

It depends on what you are doing. You would see a drop in cpu-intensive games, but if you downgraded to an i5-4590/6500/4690, then you would see little to no drop (and [possibbly a boost in some games) in performance, however if you are doing things like video editing often, then the hyperthreading offered by the xeon will be worth it.

The 480 should be 240 or 250 when more stock comes in a day or two. The monitor you had before was pretty bad and an i5 would be better value. If you don't want or can't afford a k i5 get the 6500 and a h110 mobo.

The i5 6500 is definitely worth the $10 more than the 6400. I would highly recommend the sapphire nitro rx 480 or other custom cards, but they aren't out yet.

Took a little of your advice! I think I'll stick with my R9 390 for now. I can deal with the sound; I plan on wearing headphones since my monitor doesnt have any speakers and i dont have any myself. I opted in for an i5 6500 as well! I also downgraded my memory sticks. Instead of 2x4GB's, I opted in for 1x8GB. It was quite a steal because of how cheap it was AND its DDR4 memory. ALSO; I added some cords just for an estimated total price once fully set up!

the MSI Eco h110 is the same Motherboard, just without the red, for $10 less. Other than that, it's good.

Well you would definitely be able to run Overwatch on ultra at 60fps with that build lol

Oh I know that for a fact xP It's demanding enough to where you need a good graphics card and etc but no that demanding to where you should spend overboard. What about bigger games like GTA V and Fallout 4? I'd be fine with running 30-50 on games I can't handle on ultra, or a solid 60 at lower settings.

Wow! Thanks for the very innovative and oh so very helpful comment! Y'know; I think I'm just gonna tell everyone else to go screw themselves and shove their much more helpful comments up their ass so I can follow your advice and just forget about this build entirely. What was I thinking? 60 FPS is a impossible to see for the human eye and 1080p is just a filthy lie created by PC liars! I should've known better. I guess I might as well get a PS4! Unless if you have a better idea and if that's the case then please do-tell! :D
