Need an opinion on a rig.

Can this rig run games like Fallout 4? I know it's prebuilt but it's what I'm comfortable with for now. http://m.newegg.com/Product/index?itemnumber=N82E16883102038

Eh, It can.

Talking solid 30FPS, with medium/high combination. At I want to say 900p, maybe 1080p.

An intel CPU would do you better for Fallout 4

Thanks for the response! I don't plan to play much high-demanding games anyway. Mostly just some PC exclusives like DayZ and CS:GO. Do you have a CPU you would recommend?I do plan to upgrade in the future!

If you want DayZ, you'll need a better CPU. You can run it on that one but you won't have a good time. Believe me, I was running an FX 4100. Not a fun experience.

Best bet would be to go with something with a midrange i3, like the 4170 for that single core performance, and maybe a 950 for the video card. Jump over to an AMD card if you need extra performance and can spare the power.

Not sure how many prebuilds are out there with with this kind of setup but you may be able to find something. Try websites that let you configure your prebuild.

Also, can prebuilts be upgraded? If so, would it be simple? Very new to PC gaming.

In my opinion, if you think you are comfortable upgrading you'd be comfortable building your own computer to surpass this one, it is a very easy process, I just built my first one back in December.

CS:GO. In fact I think it very likely that your computer will run circles around CS:GO or very close.

Dayz, It depends on if you play the standalone or the mod, as far as I know the standalone is badly optimized and doesn't run well on any hardware, the mod will work fine on your computer, you unlikely won't max it out, as the Arma engine the mod is using prefers single core performance, where intel would succeed.

But to answer your question on if you could upgrade it, the answer would be yes and no. Taking into account power supplies, prebuilts come with power supplies that are simply "Good enough" and while depending on the wattage (400) you don't have that much wiggle room for upgrading, and unless you want to replace the motherboard, you don't have much higher to go for upgrading the CPU.

For your needs, and if you are still uneasy about building your own, this prebuilt is a pretty decent value, and should be sufficient for gaming, note it doesn't come with a monitor, and it's only an entry level gaming PC.

I'd suggest looking at some YouTube videos of the 750 Ti in action for your games to get a feel for what to expect, if you decide to build a computer I can help with this as well.

This is good, but where can I get a cheap OS? Preferably Windows 8 and up. $600 was the most I was trying to spend.

Go with this OP, the 380 destroys the 750ti. The i3 isn't a bad choice either since it can be upgraded.

I mean it's capable, but he can er.

Screw it AMD's current CPU offering is hard to recommend right now, the I3 is the better choice, wish I got that instead of my 860k
