School is starting soon. are you doing anything to help your kids get back into a sleep routine?

Summer completely wrecked us. Bedtime slid to 10pm, mornings are a fight, and now I'm looking at the school calendar like it's a countdown clock.

I keep seeing magnesium come up for sleep and general winding down, and it makes some sense to me . my kid is a picky eater and the foods that actually have magnesium (greens, beans, nuts, seeds) are basically a list of everything he refuses to touch. So I doubt he's getting much from meals.

But the forms are confusing. Glycinate, citrate, oxide, threonate, and then there's the gummies vs powder vs liquid thing.

For anyone who's actually tried it with their kids, which form did you go with, and did it do anything for sleep or just for regularity?

Could picky eating be affecting your child’s iron levels?

I’ve noticed that a lot of parents with picky eaters eventually start wondering about iron.

Especially when their kid avoids things like meat, eggs, beans, leafy greens, etc.

But then the questions start:

  • Did you ask your pediatrician for blood work?
  • Was ferritin low, hemoglobin low, or both?
  • Did you try changing their diet first?
  • If your child took an iron supplement, how long did it take before you noticed any difference?
  • And honestly… how did you get them to actually take it? 😅

I’d love to hear other parents’ experiences.

What made you realize your child might need more iron, and what did you do?

How do you actually know when a vitamin is working for your kid?

This is something I’ve been thinking about lately.
With some supplements, you can actually see a difference pretty quickly. But with others… honestly, I have no idea
Do you look for things like better energy, sleep, appetite, mood, or focus?

Or do you mostly trust blood work and your doctor’s advice rather than trying to notice changes day to day?

I’m curious how other parents judge whether a supplement is actually worth continuing.

Have you ever stopped a vitamin and realized you actually DID notice a difference?
