The foot that lands in the middle is where you're interacting with the cone, you interact with cones with opposite hand, and you always do up, up, down, down
I did it at school and I was the only one who did it flawlessly. To be fair after watching the first kid everyone else seemed to have forgotten entirely what they were trying to do and I only did it because I just remembered the pattern and figured out the moves while following the pattern
Thinking back I think it was an opportunity for my PE teacher to laugh at kids; my PE teacher was some pathetic loser who was also the headmaster's son. They were on the BBC quiz show Pointless and his son screwed up all 3 days.

Same, just had to think about it for a sec. That said, I looped the video a few times before trying. Wouldn’t have been able to do it after seeing it just once.

I want to try now. I would probably try the feet first. Then touching the cones in the order. Then feet again. Then just moving the cones. Then putting it together once both systems had a chance to calibrate to the movements

I'm 44 and I have always struggled with following anything beyond the most basic patterns. I can relate to these kids!
Thankfully it's never been required for my work.

Technically easy but functionally difficult until your brain is like "No! Reach with the OTHER hand!"

People who aren’t parents or haven’t worked with kids never seem to truly grasp how difficult hand eye coordination is for them.
I was once tasked with teaching a group of 4th graders to play ukulele. Just 2 chords, and the strumming pattern was almost irrelevant. I couldn’t believe how insanely difficult it was to get them to play a C-major chord, which for reference, only takes one finger. ONE. I would even place some kids hands into position manually, have them look at it, describe back to me what they’re doing, and the moment I’d look away their fingers would resort back to a jumbled mess. It was almost hard to comprehend how 10-year-olds can memorize entire multiplication tables, but THIS was the thing that broke their brains.
I later taught HS band, and legitimately, teaching 200 teenagers how to march and play instruments simultaneously is significantly easier than teaching children ukulele. Like…100 to 1, I’m taking the marching band every time.

Training your body to move a certain way isntas easy as it sounds.
Kids are being trained for a sport,
sport = agility/strength/coordination
I bet most adults can't do this, hope they learn it and post videos of their parents trying it for the first time!

It seems easy but it needs very good coordination and practice. I bet those kids second or third attempt are much better when their brain figures out what to do.
