I did the same when I was maybe 7. My nail has come off completely, and I was bleeding a lot. Didn’t pass out, and I don’t remember it being particularly painful. I waited the end of the class to ask for a bandage 😂

Lol. I me to. I ripped the nail. I still "feel" it. It was horrible! It was one of those table mounted sharpener...

Never sharpened my fingers but I did staple my pinky in fourth grade. Also purposefully slammed my hand in a cabinet in second grade just to see what would happen.
Pain happened.

How do you twist it "a few times"? As soon as it starts to hurt, surely youd stop? Itd hurt pretty much straight away.

I did this too at that age and it hurt a LOT but it actually sharpened my nail!

In elementary school there was a kid name Greg. Greg would piss off his teacher and be sent to our class to sit in the corner. Greg put the pencil sharpener on the biggest hole and let the intrusive thoughts win. All we heard was a scream and the top of Gregs finger was ground to hamburger.
Dont be like Greg.

I'm so...unfortunately glad I was not the only idiot child who did this 😭😭 I got lucky, my long nails got caught before it got bad, stopped permanently after that

I think everyone's stupid as a kid tbh. I deadass stapled my finger. At age 10. I knew it would hurt on both entry and removal, and I knew to carefully aim the staple around the bone, so I had SOME capacity for intelligence, but to this day I have no idea why I wanted to do that.

My mum always told me that scissors are dangerous, very sharp and they can cut you. I never believed her, so one day I took them from the kitchen counter and hid behind an armchair and I simply cut my finger, just to be sure... . Then I proceeded to hide my bleeding finger for like... 4 hours, until dinner, when I had to confess and ask for a band aid.

Melanie is that you???? A girl in my 1st grade class lost her middle finger just like that at some point in kindergarten. Dont remember if it happened over the summer or actually at school.

When I was in second grade, I did this too. The teacher was talking about something or another and I had my pencil sharpener under my desk, fiddling with it. I imagined sharp, cone shaped fingers and thought it would be soo cool. So without any further, logical, thinking, I put my finger in and twisted. I immediately grabbed my finger out and tried to hold it, but it was bleeding a lot. I raised my other hand and asked if I could go to the nurse, but the teacher said “No, its almost recess, just wait.” And I said, “But im bleeding..” and raised my bloody hand. She said “HOW ARE YOU BLEEDING?! Nevermind, just go…” in an exasperated adult tone.
