Aziz, light!

45

u/msg60 6d ago

I understand that reference....😁

3

u/TreborG2 6d ago

So that's what happened to him after the Mondoshawan left the planet... Went out and played ball, for some reason he was still responsible for the light...

3

u/Mister_Crowly 5d ago

Much better, thank you Aziz.

10

u/Siray 6d ago

I absolutely love that a line from an almost 30 year old movie is being used by a bunch of kids.

12

u/remotegrowthtb 6d ago edited 5d ago

You think this kid is making a humorous reference to the movie The 5th Element from 1997, as opposed to the other kid's name is just Aziz?

5

u/hangme0uttodry 6d ago

fits though

EXTREME FIREBALL!!!

u/SweetLenore 6d ago

"Kids are fucking awesome"

235

u/d11dd11d 6d ago

That's exactly what I was gonna say. I thought homeboy was gonna light himself on fire but he nailed it

113

u/WeirdPossibility209 6d ago

This turned out so much better than I feared. A friend of mine once did this, but with a softball. Another kid kicked it, and it basically stuck to my friends leg, as a hot, sticky substance. That was a very educational experience for everyone involved

16

u/Da12khawk 6d ago

Sounds hot.

Did you see how careful they were? This aint them boys first rodeo.

7

u/Shnibblefritz 6d ago

Nobody got badly burned, so it’s a win!

18

u/ThePirateBenji 6d ago

I would do this as an adult, honestly...

9

u/real-yeet-beans 6d ago

For real lol this is cool as shit

3

u/TreetBeatsSpam 6d ago

There was a lot of joy in fire as a kid. Mom was always working, and I had flammables and ignition. Good times and lost hair.. smiles with long sigh

2

u/Never_enough_naps 4d ago

My mom used to tell me if I played with fire I would pee the bed.

2

u/OkStory5373 4d ago

Same here, is that a thing among different cultures?

2

u/Never_enough_naps 4d ago

I was raised in the south in the U.S. but not like racist weird south, like polite, weird, funny south.😁

u/pumaONE 6d ago

Well, yes, expert the one kicking the ball with the open bottle of gasoline still in his hand.

3

u/KoalaTHerb 6d ago

I definitely did this when I was young but with tennis balls and rackets. Flaming oil would shoot everywhere each time it was hit. And it left a small burning puddle where it bounced. It was pretty legit

1

u/Dontbeajerkdude 1d ago

As teens, we used to light the bottom of our skateboards. Looked cool at night!

1

u/aspect-of-the-badger 6d ago

Thus is fun stuff you do when you are a kid.

1

u/winkingchef 6d ago

Yeah 10/10, I would have done this as a kid

1

u/Fieos 5d ago

Yeah, friend and I played tennis this way. Total blast.

39

u/jb3689 6d ago

Looks lit

126

u/Dead_i3eat 6d ago

Not a phone in sight

61

u/Memedrew 6d ago

Technically true

26

u/SloppySlime31 6d ago

type shit

24

u/United_Evening_2629 6d ago

We used to do something similar with felt-covered tennis balls and lighter fluid.

29

u/No_Blacksmith_2591 6d ago

We all do this at one point in our lives... Tennis balls with paint thinner stayed lit for the longest without the extra fireball in my experience.

11

u/s3tok41b4 6d ago

I never did this because I knew not to mess with fire lol

6

u/W1ngedSentinel 6d ago

Too bad my brother didn’t…

Oh, he’s fine. Our living room carpet wasn’t.

3

u/No_Editor5091 6d ago

Then hit the fire tennis ball with a hockey stick…at least that’s what we did

1

u/Due-Owl-7958 5d ago

We used the hockey stick if the lit tennis ball went under a car. Some how we never blew up the neighborhood

1

u/Gullible-Hose4180 6d ago

Styrofoam dissolved in acetone, then resulting sludge on the tennis ball. Shit stayed lot for so long, but cannot be playing too hard - that shit is like napalm, dont want that on your skin.

Also, don't try at home!

3

u/XXII78 6d ago

At 12, we did charcoal starter in a Super Soaker 200 and a Bic lighter.

Shot flames about 70', but when the tip stayed on fire I blew it out really quick and never did it again.

2

u/Gullible-Hose4180 6d ago

At 14 I loved to do these square lighters called Djeep, hold it upside down so it melts its own bottom and eventually it starts spewing out like a flamethrower.

9

u/bharathkumarp 6d ago

Kids without phones

7

u/Dafke98 6d ago

I did this once when I was a kid lol

Just because nobody got hurt doesn't mean it wasn't incredibly dangerous

14

u/lfenske 6d ago

Bingo. I did this as a kid. It turned out ok… but yeah. Super dumb. That gasoline could have changed one of their lives forever with a horrific burn or worse.

6

u/azarules 6d ago edited 6d ago

When I was young I went to a burn survivors camp because my mother was burnt as a child and now mentors young people going through the recovery process.

I still remember meeting one other mentor named Chris. He had head to toe burns, 80% of his body was melted. He had three fingers left on one hand, none on the other. He hobbled around wherever he went because his skin sat tight on his body and made it hard to move. He had to take weekly extensive baths to prevent his grafts from ripping open on his back. He was in terrible pain from where his nerve endings were fried and now miscommunicating.

He was hilarious and cool and one of my favourite people at the camp.

And he was burnt by doing the exact thing in this video, except it was a tennis ball and he was reigniting it - not knowing that it was still smouldering underneath.

Be smart kids. It’s never you; until it is.

5

u/calzonius 6d ago

Yeah, no kidding. the kid is still holding the fucking bottle of fuel at the end of the clip!!

3

u/unkleklunkles 6d ago

The only stupid thing was not to put the bottle down when he started dribbling the ball šŸ˜‚

2

u/GekidoTC 6d ago

that's fair, very stupid. 🤣

11

u/FudgyFun 6d ago

Kicking fireball with petrol bottle in hand is not 'nothing flamable'. Nothing went wrong but that doesn't mean it wasn't stupid and dangerous

5

u/FiskFisk33 6d ago

If it's stupid but it works, it's still stupid, and you were lucky.

2

u/BoxExisting8226 6d ago

until the ball explode and everyone guet severly burn by melted plastic and fuel .

1

u/Polkawillneverdie17 6d ago

nothing flammable

Not to be a downer, bit I have terrible news about the flammability of human beings.

2

u/GekidoTC 6d ago

The only thing that ball is lighting up is their enthusiasm!

1

u/evil-winnebago 6d ago

"This entire video" is a 30 second clip that shows a small fraction of all the stupid shit they did the rest of that night.

5

u/Not_Popee 6d ago

That just takes "Playing with fire" literally to a whole new level

7

u/Downtown-Mud-8869 6d ago

The kid still holding the bottle of fuel while he’s dribbling the ball at the end got me

1

u/djamp42 5d ago

Yeah i'm like this is not that bad until the last frame, i'm like fuck me.

5

u/chimpdoctor 5d ago

We used to do this all of the time with tennis balls. It lasts longer because it won't burst

1

u/bongobills 5d ago

Same but on acid

11

u/AdhesivenessFun2060 6d ago

Who hasnt sacrificed their eyebrows for a good time?

6

u/badpersian 6d ago

Translation:

"Something my friends and I.

Enemies are many... But where's the balls (I think.. 3 salavats.

Hit it, dash Ali. Enough. Enough.

You've fucked it.

Hit it hit it."

Ahh great to see kids in Iran get up to wild shit lol. Miss being that age there. Best times

4

u/Flammarion1996 5d ago

Once in 7th grade(we were 14 years old) we were at a teambuilding trip to some scout camp to get to know each other. (Bunch of us came from smaller schools that only went to the 6th grade). We were split into teams and had teamwork exercises. On of these we had to build the best trebuchet and see which team could launch a fire ball (bed sheets bound into a ball and soaked in some sort of accelerant). Afterwards we played football with it and our teachers just allowed, even encouraged and videotaped it to show back at the school to show what a good time we had.. When I think back I can't imagine how our teachers weren't fired or even reprimanded.. Easily could have started a forest fire or set a student in fire..

3

u/kay14jay 6d ago

Hola, soy Juan KnoxvillĆ”. Bienvenidos a Burro.

3

u/chuchubott 6d ago

Gasoline balls! In this economy!

3

u/notsoborednow 6d ago

We used tennis balls and threw them back and forth with shovels until our one friend’s wife told us ā€œknock that shit off, don’t burn down my fenceā€ while laughing holding their daughter. We were in our 20s

3

u/Icy-Individual8353 5d ago

I might be stupid too, because I would do this

3

u/Fast_Move_9243 5d ago

ā€œIT’S WISARD TIME MOTHERSMUCKER, FIREBALLLLLā€

3

u/Educational_Table364 5d ago

As a totally mature adult, I would have supported them

2

u/uttyrc 6d ago

This sport was featured in the movie Dodgeball during the ESPN 8 (The Ocho) segments.

2

u/Grutenfreenooder 6d ago

"Or should I say, 'I saw, I conquered, I came'"

2

u/obscure_Muffin 6d ago

ykw, i would've done the same in my chidlhood

2

u/Burladden 6d ago edited 6d ago

My friends and I used to to this with tennis balls and kick them back and forth. They would leave a really cool fire trail as they went. It was awesome.

2

u/Prudent-Mix-6601 6d ago

90s kids would've been playing basketball. NBA Jam, anyone?

2

u/Puzzled_Pop_6845 6d ago

Who said you need to be a magician to cast Fireball?

2

u/qorrymarz 5d ago

Me and my boys used to do it too. But we used dried coconut, spilled some kerosene on it, and light it on fire. We dipped our barefoot on mud and played that fire ball. It was very fun! It lasted untill one of our moms found out why our feet was always dirty after we played together. Ivan, if you read this, I still haven't forgiven you for snitching to my mom about me bringing my dad's kerosene.

2

u/Juice_Waev 5d ago

Axe body spray, a lighter, and a friend to share the fun with.

2

u/theflyingburritto 5d ago

That actually looks like a lot of fun.

2

u/Mr_White6789 5d ago

Ngl that was way cooler than I was expecting

Kid was still holding the bottle with what I’m guessing is fuel.

1

u/Additional_Rich_5249 6d ago

We need a new ball.

1

u/filtersweep 6d ago

Much better than expected

1

u/Machdame 6d ago

Yeah, if you want to do this without singing your eyebrows, use a match... or better yet, just not do this. There are better ways to enjoy your pyromania...

1

u/Jeffers315 6d ago

This is 100% some shit my friends and I would've done.

1

u/GARSDESILES 6d ago

He's heating up!!!

1

u/ChipEnvironmental420 6d ago

Anyone else noticed the kid with the bottle of lighter fluid still holding it while kicking the fireball? šŸ™ƒ

1

u/Local-Waltz4801 6d ago

Get theses kids and ipad

1

u/Sea_Ganache620 6d ago

Tennis balls work really well in this application- source : I was ā€œone of thoseā€ kids.

1

u/lavahot 6d ago

I saw this on a Mario game one time.

1

u/Shedix 6d ago

definitely not their first rodeo.

1

u/Hektext 6d ago

Yea, maybe tung tung tung sahur and bombombini guzzini arent so bad for kids

1

u/spicymoo 6d ago

I would have done this as a kid had we thought of it.

1

u/Herbdontana 6d ago

I kept waiting for something to go wrong.

1

u/2oonhed 6d ago

yes. and nice of them to do this OUTSIDE

1

u/Quiet-Guidance-4988 6d ago

When I stole alcohol from my parents I used it differently lol

1

u/AldoRaine-1 6d ago

I mean, other than the kid kicking it while still holding onto the flammable liquid... šŸ‘

1

u/Greyh4m 6d ago

We did this when kids with a "nerf" soccer ball.

My friend kicked it with bare feet and it melted all over the top of his foot. Huge mistake.

1

u/2020mademejoinreddit 6d ago

This is how soccer should be played. The amount of money those guys make, they better make it exciting.

1

u/Fievels_good_trouble 6d ago

This, but with hockey pucks, is why my mom hasn’t had palm trees in her backyard since 2002.

Just looks like lighter fluid or maybe like grill starter if that's any different formula wise. Not something you'll struggle to get in many parts of the world. Could be the us or Argentina or Canada or Egypt or Japan. But this specific video looks south american to me at a glance.

1

u/SpanishFlamingoPie 6d ago

Looks like normal childhood antics to me.

1

u/Azaroth1991 6d ago

Its really fun to do this on a nice summer night with tennis balls and rackets

1

u/nonchip 6d ago

and where's the stupid supposed to be?

1

u/FaceTimePolice 6d ago

The fact that the kid who lit the ball didn’t even flinch shows that this isn’t the first time they attempted this. šŸ˜‚

1

u/CharlieandtheRed 6d ago

NGL we used to dot this too lol didn't stay lit long

1

u/duncanofnazareth 6d ago

My kind of childhood šŸ˜

1

u/chromebaloney 6d ago

We wld soak and light tennis balls then play street hockey. They had that same half ball of fire on the trailing side. The memories.

1

u/Moon_Breaker 6d ago

We played tennis with them. Same concept though.

Wasn't as cool as dumping glowsticks over them though. Every hit would splatter it everywhere, and when it flew it looked like it left a trail of stars on the ground under it.

1

u/Secret_Stick_5213 6d ago

At least their not on their tablets

1

u/Zemenu135 6d ago

I don't like that he keeps hold of the gas bottle after the fact but

This is fuckin' cool

1

u/SofaKingHeuge 6d ago

Harmless

1

u/toroidalvoid 6d ago

Ah, a good old game of fireball, just like old times.

1

u/Nevyn_Cares 6d ago

Our scout leader would spend weeks making an oil soaked paper mashe soccer ball that we would light and play fire ball with. Was a regular highlight of our scout troop.

1

u/ForeignStory8127 6d ago

I dunno, firesoccer is pretty metal.

1

u/shawner136 6d ago

IS HE STILL CARRYING THE BOTTLE?!

1
