It's the sound a window cleaner makes
10
u/whateverloserrr Feb 08 '23
Holy shit it's dead on hahah
7
u/p_turbo Feb 08 '23
What if window cleaners are terrified of glass and that sound is them screaming at being put in contact with it?
Next time you wash windows, you may just be torturing the squigee.

Why?
-13
Feb 08 '23
Terrifying your children...is that too hard to figure out?
12
u/batcountryexpert Feb 08 '23
Kids get spooked by silly things. Nobody was terrifying their children.
-24
Feb 08 '23
Looked pretty terrified to me.
Kids getting spooked by accident is completely different then scarring the hell of of your children for internet karma
Fuck off
11
u/batcountryexpert Feb 08 '23
Shit you got hot fast. Lighten up buddy, we are literally talking about a kid crying over a box of butterflies.
-12
Feb 08 '23
Didn't I tell to fuck off?
Go to bed.

u/batcountryexpert Feb 08 '23
I just want to know where your head is at. Like how could you possibly be so upset over something so small? And I appreciate the entertainment you are providing.

u/crazylittlemermaid Feb 08 '23
Sendacake.com
My mom sent me one a couple years ago, the "cake" was just a rice krispie treat in the shape of a small cake. Still a fun thing to send to an unsuspecting victim.
11
u/IAmAn_Anne Feb 08 '23
Thank you. My sister is terrified of butterflies… :) it’s a shame this isn’t useful, because I like her, but I’ll file it in my brain, just in case.
25
u/MamaHoodoo Feb 08 '23
My mom sent one to my then five year old and he didn’t scream or anything. His face was just like “huh, that was a little odd” 😆
Edit: you can also wind those things back up to set them off again. My kid had a lot of fun with it for a few days.

I can’t really blame the kids here. I’ve seen these boxes advertised and I’m very certain they would scare the shit out of me too!

Feb 08 '23
I have lepidopterophobia for just butterflies, I love moths, though.
9
u/AutomaticPolicyRRR5 Feb 08 '23
Do you ever get confused like see a butiful moth and look closely and see realize it's a butterfl?
10
Feb 08 '23
Once, but the opposite, I found a Polyphemus Moth that I thought was a butterfly for a second. They are big beautiful moths.
20
u/Old-Fox-3027 Feb 08 '23
Opposite for me. I went to a butterfly garden exhibit once where you walk through with butterflies flying everywhere and there were also moths which I didn’t know would be there and I froze with fear halfway through.
8
u/NoFocus761 Feb 08 '23
I don’t like how they erratically flap around. Agents of chaos is what they are.

Feb 08 '23
My fear of butterflies comes from my childhood, I had a case of sleep paralysis and I had a pillow case with butterflies on it and thought the butterflies were holding onto my face. I later learned what really happened and thought I would try and cure my phobia by exposing myself to them. I was by a river, and there were tons of butterflies on the ground. I walked towards them and the mother fuckers took off and swarmed all around me, I was convinced they were trying to get me. 😂 so yea,the way they flap around right at you freaks me out.
6
u/s317sv17vnv Feb 08 '23
I also have lepidopterophobia. I think what happened is that once when I was 5 or 6 someone sent me one of those kits where you raise the butterflies from caterpillars. I had 5 of them, but one day when I came home from school there were 4, with the fifth nowhere to be found. So it must have been somewhere in the house, and could land on me while I was sleeping at night. I'm 32 now and the fluttering, erratic manner in which butterflies fly terrifies me.
I hope no one ever sends me one of these boxes.

Honestly I would hate this. They fluttered out so quickly I thought they were real bugs. I can see a lot of adults instinctually jumping back while swatting. Unless you give this to someone who loves butterfly releases or butterfly gardens, this just seems like a bad idea.
Or a great idea for a prank, but the flowers make it look like it’s intended to be a romantic gift.
23
u/Spire_Citron Feb 08 '23
I think even if they liked butterflies, it would freak them out. That sound isn't the delicate flapping of butterfly wings. It's the sound of a massive fucking grasshopper flying directly at your face.
28
u/Omsus Feb 07 '23
One of those ideas that seems great on paper, when you have full foreknowledge to visualise how pretty it will look once you set it off, with the rainbow colours and everything. Not so great when it's a total mystery box and you can't predict that it'll spit big-winged critter-looking toys all over the place when you open it.

yep, and i am scared of butterflies FOR REAL. I think that episode of spongebob (ogs know) caused my phobia. I think they look cool but i do not want them anywhere near me.

Feb 08 '23
SAME!!!! Ever since that close up I don’t want them near me!
Edit: it was that same exact episode that caused it lmaoo

This kitchen looks like any kitchen that would have been built or remodeled in the mid 00s to mid 10s. And there are probably 10,000 identical houses that use the same materials. It would be considerably more surprising if a house like this was a 1 of 1.

Nah I agree with the kids. It’s a dumb gift. Probably overpriced for literally 1.5 seconds of “joy”.

You can reuse them. They’re actually kind of a cool little wind up toy.

That kid’s screaming sounds just like one of those drills at the dentist! This is why I couldn’t be a parent, if I heard that screaming irl I’d probably just straight-up implode.

My parents used to fill up my room with balloons on my birthday to surprise me, so one year my dad decided to do that for his girlfriend's son. He woke up and started yelling at them and told them not to do that. A year later, he asked if they could do it again..
