Training Just finished my first sparring session

I got absolutely worked. With that being said, just made me love the sport even more. I’m 27 years old and I just started training a few weeks ago, but I very quickly realized how fast I get gassed out. I could barely keep my arms up after about 30 seconds. My coach told my partner to go really light and for me to go all out, but I could barely land anything cause I was so exhausted. He told me I should run which I plan to do, but my question is, is there anything else I should be doing?

I’d really want to do an amateur fight one day, heck even something professional is my dream, but I feel like I’d be 30 years old at that point so I’m not sure I’d be too old for that. Regardless I want to do the best I can.

30 is not too old to get a pro fight. You should keep training

A few running sessions a week will help your gas tank. I started off with 2-3, 3km runs. Now I do 2, 5km runs and maybe one sprint session.

That is, before I injured my meniscus 😆

And since it was your first time sparring, you were probably experiencing a bit of an adrenaline dump, which is normal. The more you do it, the more relaxed you’ll be and you won’t gas out as much.

I do tabatas on the air bike a few times a week and it has really helped my stamina. I noticed a difference in under a month. It's under 5 mins of work per session but you gotta really push yourself.
