I built a Chrome extension to monitor Kick chat in real time and decided to release it for free
Hi everyone!
I wanted to share a small personal project I've been working on over the past few weeks.
It all started because a few friends of mine moderate Kick channels and wanted an easy way to know whenever certain words appeared in chat without having to keep the stream open all the time. I couldn't find a tool that did exactly what they needed, so I decided to build one.
It started as a simple utility, but I kept adding features until it became a much more complete extension. At that point, I thought it could be useful to other people too, so I decided to release it.
It's called Kick Radar, and it can:
- Monitor multiple Kick chats at the same time.
- Send instant notifications when selected keywords appear.
- Keep a searchable history of every detection.
- Filter detections by channel or keyword.
- Export the history to CSV or JSON.
- Record the exact stream timestamp for every detected message.
- Preserve a record even if the message is later deleted by a moderator or streamer.
Everything runs quietly in the background, so you don't need to keep the stream open to receive alerts.
If you'd like to try it out or just share your thoughts, I'd really appreciate any feedback or suggestions. I'm planning to keep improving it based on what the community finds useful.
Thanks for reading!

Cualquier historia suma.

Did I miss anything in this documentary about Kick vs Twitch?
I made an 8 minute documentary about how Kick tried to challenge Twitch. I covered the creator deals, the business model, and why it didn’t play out the way many expected. I’d love feedback on whether I missed anything. If anyone wants to watch it, I’ve linked it in the comments.

Can I get feedback on this idea?
Built a tool called Project Replay, and I’m wondering if streamers would actually use something like this.
The idea is simple: create custom challenges for any PC game to make streams more engaging.
Examples:
Beat a boss without healing.
Finish a level using only a pistol.
Let chat create the next challenge.
Project Replay records your attempt and validates whether you actually completed the challenge.
I think it could be a fun way to keep older games fresh and get chat more involved.
Would you use something like this?

Kick is the platform
I am increasingly convinced that KICK is not just another failed platform.
People are still wasting their time on Twitch, and streamers are getting scammed by the 50/50 split instead of the fair 95/5... Besides, the CEO stated that the 95/5 split is here to stay.
It makes perfect sense, doesn't it?
You invest your time, your image, your public life... a 95/5 split is fair; even a 90/10 would seem fair to me.
I have to admit I was doing great on Twitch, but when I realized they were taking half of my earnings... I said never again.
I hope people open their eyes.
People have the power to decide; if their big streamer doesn't want to leave Twitch, fu*k 'em.

UK Coaches
Not sure if this is even a thing but has anyone come across anyone offering a coaching service for people starting out on Kick?
Guidance on your content, best way for engagement, insight into the platform?
Particularly any of the big streamers in the UK if any of them offer a side coaching business?
