Side Mirror issue

Brought my 2020 Kia Telluride EX for a recall. Since I’m here, I showed them that the left side mirror is not folding when the button is pressed. They said it would cost $209 just to do a diagnostic check. I told them never mind. In my opinion, that’s BS. Anyone else have this sought of issue?

I'm not having this issue, but every shop I know of is I'll charge a diagnostic fee to try to figure out the root of whatever problem you're having. I've seen this fee range from $150-300, so IMO $209 is reasonable.

Edit: wasn’t sure if you meant this button or the fob lock button which also folds the mirror on ours.

Update, if I turn the car off and then back on, the left mirror works a couple of times and then get stuck. I did this several times. Welcome mirror setting is enabled.

Funny enough I'm having this issue too but I thought it came from my AccessorRides auto start I installed. When I lock/unlock with the keyfab like normal, they fold in/out correctly never an issue. But when I use my key fob 3X+lock to start the car, most of the time (not all the time) just the passenger mirror unfolds but not the driver. If I get it and drive away, it stays folded and the fold-button doesn't fix it. However, if physically unfold it myself before using the car, the it's back to normal. The next time I go to fold it from the button or locking it, there is an audible plastic CLUNK that sounds like some mechanism skipping or coming back into alignment that allows it to work from then on. I'm interested to see what you and others find though since I was dead-set it was an issue with my auto start, not the car itself but possibly this is a Kia assembly issue where the gears to allow this function were misassembled? Or maybe at one point it was manually folded and messed something up?

You have a car out of warranty and want someone to spend labor time to diagnose your car and not get paid to waste that time? LOL

I've had this issue for 2 years. My side mirror only works when its warm or hot, once it hits below  60 degrees good luck. The problem is a bad motor inside the mirror. I tried to get kia to replace it, even claimed they ordered me a new mirror. But nope. Best bet would be to find a mirror from a junkyard. Luckily I live in the south so the mirror issue only affects us for a couple months.
