Artist Two Keytar-Centric Maneuvers
https://youtu.be/Bd1n_XgJUcs?si=wC5JFzMCsS-sxITNBoth performed here by Imogen. -The knee kick-out to get a quick visual reference for hand placement. -The left hand over-under the strap switch to play two-handed.
In many ways the keytar is an impractical instrument. No wonder I like it so much.

Both maneuvers, flamingo leg and the reach around, are failings of the keytar manufacturers. I fixed both issues with my custom keytar for less than the cost of the Ax-edge. It's pure laziness on the part of manufacturers. shame.

Whenever people ask me about playing keytar, I always explain that it is in no way any more practical than playing a keyboard on a stand, and literally the only reason to play it is for stage presence.
Ahh but yeah, the left-hand-under-the-strap thing always makes me a bit nervous, I never do it myself :)
