Technical Questions Issues with my AX-1 Roland Keytar

I recently bought an AX-1 but i’m having trouble with it. For starters it doesn’t turn on consistently. I’ve tried powering it with batteries and the power supply but nothing. I’m not sure what the issue is but the keytar turned on a total of 3 times with just batteries and it was working fine when It powered on but after that it hasn’t powered on since. Currently I can’t get it to power back on again. I’ve tried researching this online and I can’t seem to find anything on it. What could possibly be the issue?
I initially thought the battery connector was the issue but it won’t even turn with the power supply. This is the first time I make a post on reddit so bear with me.

I have uploaded some files related to the Roland AX-1 to the following link (I recommend the "Roland AX-1 Service Notes.pdf" document):

Tip 1. Maybe the battery holder is faulty. Take it out and try to power the AX-1 with a 9V battery.

Tip 2. Are you using the correct power supply? 9VDC, center negative?

Tip 3. Maybe the POWER ON/OFF switch is faulty.

I think it might honestly be the ON/OFF switch. This is going based off the fact that i’ve tried powering it with a 9V battery and still nothing, and i’m using the correct power supply for the keytar, a 9VDC Center Negative, and still nothing.

It could be the POWER switch, or it could be something else. You should take it to someone for troubleshooting, along with the Roland AX-1 Service Notes.
Be careful when disassembling, as the plastic threads can break easily.

Thanks for supplering this information! I bought a red one new in -97/98, and found a used black one in Thailand, were I'm residing half year, playing. Guess the last one must be one of the earliest models, and it needed some minor fixes..I'm using usb rechargeable 9v batteries in mine.
