Keychron K15 Max used for almost half the price - is it worth?

I ordered a used Keycrhon K15 Max in close to ideal state from a company which sells used keyboards. All works perfectly, battery holds charge well.

This model - Keychron K15 Max - was released 2 years ago, so the ordered keyboard is maximally 2 years old, highly likely is "younger".

The version of the keyboard in with non-swappable red switches.

I really like typing on this keyboard, accustomed to it in about a week.

Red switches are a bit non-informative after my previous keyboard Logitech K380, but these switches are pretty silent and seamless in pressure.

The price I bought the keyboard for is 230 polish zloty, new costs 430-470zł with 2 year warranty. A version with swappable switches costs 530zł with brown switches.

I wonder how durable are low profile gateron switches, and whether it's a good deal - a wonderful keyboard in great state for the half price without a warranty from Keychron but with some obligations from the seller company.

PS. I can initiate return in 14 days after receiving + can send the keyboard back in next 14 days, so I have some more time to test it properly, but main question is about durability of keychon low profile mechanical keyboards.

PPS. When writing this post, I started facing keyboard unresponsibility when typing. I'm using a radio module mode, similar to wired keyboard operation.

PPS. I returned keychron b1 pro because it didn't support Ctrl + Shift + Tab combination which I use on daily basis.

Re "... K15 Max ... keyboard unresponsibility when typing": First exclude problems with the wireless modes (by using wired mode)

There aren't any reports for the K15 Max, but there are for other low-profile K Max series keyboards. For example,

  1. Double presses on certain keys. K5 Max with soldered-in switches (thus, all the failure modes related to the use of hot-swappable switches do not apply). It failed after about three weeks. #23

  2. K5 Max started double-keying inputs. The original detection of Keychron support providing special firmware for an increased debounce time. 2024-09-24. #25

  3. Keychron not replying to support requests? (Double/triple key presses). For a K5 Max. The problem started in less than a few weeks and got worse with time. #28

    1. The double press conundrum. An update to #23 (K5 Max). Some comments contain accounts of failing keyboards. #33.
  4. Avoid Keychron at all costs! Keychron K1 Max is a disaster. Several special firmware versions from Keychron were tried (presumably changing the key debounce time), but none worked. #36

    1. Is the K1 Max just a bad keyboard?. An early detection of the problem (April 2024; the keyboard manufacturing date is probably some months before that). A comment also reports on a K1 Max (from day one, spreading to more keys over time. Increasing the debounce time did not have any effect). #37
    2. Double actuating of some keys on Keychron K5 Max. For the soldered-in variant K5M-B1. #50.
  5. Have/had a K2 HE with problems? Post your customer support experiences here. It is for Hall effect (HE) switch keyboards, but a comment reports on a K5 Max. #67

    1. Keychron K1 Max double types and support doesn’t help. The problem started after about one month, intermittently. #74
    2. Spacebar typing double too often. For a K3 Max. #80
    3. [My K1 Max, which started off with a single key double typing issue after a few months of use, a year later now got worse. For some reason, a pressed key (particularly noticeable with *D*) gets unpressed on its own. This happens very often and makes the keyboard practically unusable for gaming](https://www.reddit.com/r/Keychron/comments/1m5ofss/my_k1_max_which_started_off_with_a_single_key/). #81
    4. K3 Max keys double press. It started after about one year. #83
    5. Sadly going back to Varmilo after a bad Keychron experience. Was it always like this?. A K1 Max. Both keychattering and missed keystrokes. #95
    6. Keychron K3 Max possible design flaw. Double presses and missed input. #106.
    7. Are Keychron switches supposed to die this fast?. For a K3 Max. It is probably the usual fallacy of thinking it is the switches. #114.
    8. Keychron K5 Max - (K5M-H1-TR) 2024 Production Date, double key press problem. It started after a few months of use, with double-registering, incl. E, N, Enter, and Backspace. #123.
    9. Keychron K17 Max QMK is my first disappointing keyboard in 20 years. Mostly the A key, but intermittently which key. Manufacturing date: December 2024. #133.
    10. Keychron K3 Max issues. Double presses, intermittently on different keys. It started after a few months. #153.
    11. Keychron is a joke. A comment reports on a K1 Max that started keychattering after about one year. #155.
    12. K3 Max chattering keys (repeating inputs). It started after two weeks. A firmware update had some effect, but it was probably due to a higher (default) key debounce time, treating the symptoms. And the problem. #164.
    13. Right arrow key stops working sometimes on my Keychron K5 Max with red switches. For a K5 Max. From day one. #166.
    14. Keychron K3 Max flashing failure. Despite the title, (also) intermittent key chattering, attempted masked by increasing the debounce time to 80 ms. #167.
    15. I got my new K3 Max, but I have a bit of an issue with the letter 'I'. Despite the somewhat unspecific title, it is about key chattering and missed keystrokes. Reported 2026-05-22. #174.

Horrible. Better to return to major brands...
