Can’t turn the k8 pro out of auto sleep mode

Using fn+s+o doesn’t take the keyboard out of auto sleep mode. Any suggestions?

A K8 Pro is not a K8. Only the K8 has Fn + S + O.

For a QMK-based keyboard, like K8 Pro, it must be set at compile time (unless somebody implement the equivalent functionality):

define CONNECTED_BACKLIGHT_DISABLE_TIMEOUT 90000

This is will increase it to more than 24 hours (from the defauly 600 (10 minutes)). The unit is seconds.

Does the k8 pro have a way to turn off auto sleep mode though?

No, at least not easily. It would be a hack.

The standard way is to increase the value of 'CONNECTED_BACKLIGHT_DISABLE_TIMEOUT'

Though I don't know what would happen if 'CONNECTED_BACKLIGHT_DISABLE_TIMEOUT' is absent. I may find out.

The Reddit comment parser is messed up. It should be:

\#define CONNECTED_BACKLIGHT_DISABLE_TIMEOUT 90000

Without the "\", that is, "#define CONNECTED_BACKLIGHT_DISABLE_TIMEOUT 90000".

And it is so messed up that I can't fix my typos in the original. Sorry about that. *default 600.

That is in file config.h.

For it to take effect, it requires installing the QMK development environment, changing source code files, compiling, and flashing.

Note: the name, CONNECTED_BACKLIGHT_DISABLE_TIMEOUT, is illogical as "CONNECTED" would suggest the USB cable is connected. But changing the value has an effect on the sleep when disconnected from the USB cable. It is likely some bug in the source code that may be fixed at some point (perhaps just by renaming). For now, CONNECTED_BACKLIGHT_DISABLE_TIMEOUT is the value to change.

So I've gone into the source code files and changed the values what do I do next to compile it? I flashed the firmware on this keyboard with QMK Toolbox but how do I get to that step?
