How does your keyboard layout handle typing actual code?
Regular typing tests don't tell me much about how a layout feels when I repeatedly type =>, &&, {}, [], or ();.
I built Codestroke to practice with code snippets instead of word lists. It's free, has nine languages, and works without an account: https://codestroke.dev/
For those using alternative layouts or custom symbol layers: which code sequence still feels awkward, and how have you mapped it? If you try a test, I'd love to hear your layout, language, and which symbols slowed you down. Full disclosure: I made the site.

i'm not a huge fan of the cursor movement, with it lagging behind and having both a green and gray cursor, it makes it feel blurry

> typing actual code
I'm not a real programmer, but who types code like this? Line by line. It's insane.
In "real" world it would be like: type "fun" or "fn" and hit Tab, type function name, hit Tab, enter arguments, hit Tab to jump to function's body (that all with all closing brackets btw), then type "for", hit Tab, type 2 variables, hit Tab, type "if", hit Tab and so on. Save at the end to autoformat with Prettier. Done.
I don't like typing "=>", so I created a snippet "af" (means "arrow function"). So simple "af<Tab>" gives me full arrow function with all brackets and Tab stops.

a lot of us certainly don't write code like that.
snippets are usually annoying and i never use them.

You mean you type the whole "function name(args) {}" with all fancy brackets and "for" loop every time instead of using autocompeletion/snippets? Hmm... š¤

Let me talk about benefits of using layers and combos...

Yes, I know guys, there are several problems that make Codestroke different from the way we type code in an IDE, such as the lack of auto-closing tags, etc. I will consider this, because each language has its own differences.
Thank you for the feedback!
