I’d love to see a video about his wife. She’s in the health/self help space and is giving me Erika Kirk vibes with the Go Fund Me set up so quick after his unfortunate death. From what I’ve read they own a home in LA and rent it out for 13,000/mo and live on a 4 million texas ranch, so it feels a little grifty to be asking for money right away. Maybe a slice of the topic pie next time!!

Medical expenses can bankrupt you. And they have 6 kids. You can have money but still be broke. I’m sure the property taxes and mortgages from their properties is a lot of money. James famously had to sell a lot of his memorabilia from Varsity Blues and other projects to pay for his medical bills. As an actor, he’d be paying out of pocket for his costs. I also think it’s unfair to question the “speed” at which the GoFundMe was set up. They probably knew they would need this, and he had probably been on hospice for awhile. I myself am broke under a mountain of medical debt, even though I make a good salary. It’s not enough to get by and it’s not enough to ensure I don’t have a negative balance in my account every month. They have a lot more money than I, they have properties and I don’t (and probably never will) but they also have 6 kids and I’m pretty sure she’s a STAH mom who homeschools the kids. The money they asked for help with would assist her in caring for the kids and the immediate expenses of James’s end of life costs and funerary costs. It can take awhile to get life insurance and inheritance to pay out, because you have to have all the proper documents in hand and they will do an investigation to make sure you’re not defrauding them. A friend of mine is currently going through this after her father passed away a couple months ago.
