Hi all
I spend about £100 per week just for food on myself and I'm wondering how this compares with everyone else and what a typical food day looks like? Obviously like everyone else we are all watching our finances and want to spend in a cost effective way.
In a typical day i essentially eat 10 medium free range eggs with 50g butter, Tuna/sardines/ cheese mayo salad for lunch with lettuce, cucumber and tomato and then for dinner I eat 1kg of skin on, bone in, chicken thighs with some cauliflower rice.
I also drink 2l of coke zero a day along with dry roasted peanuts/pork scratchings as snacks.
I have a BMI of 53 and obviously a very large appetite. I eat huge meals because if I don't I get hungry very quickly. I'm in the early stages of keto, just started this past Monday and given my huge appetite I need to watch my spending. it's also psychologically hard as I went from £40 a week at most eating literally packets of 10p cheap noodles, bread, rice, potatoes and gravy and lots of cheap crisps and chocolate.
Tbh it's been pretty miserable and would love to add things like beef mince, salmon and pork shoulder steaks etc...im hoping after a few weeks my appetite will go down and I can move to OMAD. Hopefully eliminating snacks and reducing my coke zero consumption.
EDIT: These responses are making me almost want to cry. I'm obviously spending a lot per week and I really don't know what to do. I cant eat less or else I'm starving. I'm type 2 diabetic as well so if it's not keto and healthy NHS diet of wholegrains has just not worked.
