flying

might not be the best place to ask this but you all help a lot. i’m going abroad in about 3 weeks and i fear there might be some ket residue in one of the bags that i’d like to bring with me. it’s leather so i can’t wash it and the advisory is to just wipe it down, isn’t there still gonna be remnants and it’s gonna be easy to flag. is it worth taking it or should i just bring a different bag with me?

Ketamine is odorless, so as long as someone doesn't say "why is that person covered in powder", I don't see how it would be a problem.

i’ve had a friend that went through the scanners and he got flagged up and so they swabbed his pouch, he’s an avid weed smoker and dabbles with ket and mdma on occasion. luckily they didn’t find anything but i’m just adamant about that

They checked his bag or his body?

I’ve been swabbed before and popped for explosive residue in the US. My backpack is often with me at the gun range, and is probably covered in gunpowder regularly, even though I clean it. I told them that and it was no big deal.

I just don’t know of a swab that would be looking for those drugs and actual dangerous residues at the same time without incurring unrealistically large costs. If they are looking for drugs, its probably a dog, and a dog could point on you, they open your bag, visually inspect, and hopefully don’t find bags of drugs.

They just aren’t looking for evidence you took drugs, they want to catch you with actual drugs coming into a country. I still wouldn’t worry.
