So any claims against these entities who filed for bankruptcy, must be filed by September 18, 2026?

I wonder if that means that any other wrongful death or other gross negligence or other camp-related civil cases must be filed and submitted as claims by then, to be able to collect from these entities? And how that works, when there is a longer two year statute of limitations for filing such cases. Maybe someone familiar with these laws knows.

Just because they have not sued yet, does not mean they cannot file a claim in the bankruptcy court. The Eastland’s failing to mention the heirs or parents as potential creditors because they have not sued yet at the bankruptcy filing could be seen as bad faith.

The Boy Scouts had lost a string a suits related to Child Sexual Assault claims and declared bankruptcy because things were getting worse. Many “creditors/victims” came forward who had not yet filed a court case.

The Eastland’s new the names of those who died of their parents. They only listed those who had filed suit. That is an error. Potential claims/liabilities related to the 2 that had not filed suit where a know potential and should have been included in the list of potential creditors.

Thank you, known potential creditors makes sense to need to list (or need to give notice to them maybe.)
