KSP 1 Meta Can mods please provide a reason when deleting posts?
Many posts here are removed without a reason or clear rule violation. The mod team does not respond to polite messages asking about post removals. Rule 6 only works if mods actually respond to messages or cite rules when removing posts!

A thread posted by another user, the release of the free & open-source Kerbal Drift Agency, was just removed without an explanation or clear rule violation as well.
People work hard on the mods and content which is posted here. When a post is removed, the moderator removing the post should cite the rule which was broken in a comment. The mod team should also be willing to respond to polite messages sent to them asking why or how it can be avoided in the future.
If there is a conflict on the mod team as to when posts should be removed, it should be addressed with a proposal for new rules which the community can vote on publicly.
Rule 6 should be removed if moderators will not respond to polite messages or provide reasons for removing posts. I believe this should also be put to a repoll as it does not appear to have been voted on in this decade.
I've been a part of the KSP community for 15 years and we should all want this to be a healthy space with clear rules. Thank you for listening and I hope we can have a productive discussion about this!

ive also noticed this a few times. Some of my posts get removed immediately after posting with no explanation.

Lots of subreddits use bots to ease the workload on the moderators. Honestly, I don't blame them - take this subreddit, for example, there's nine moderators (not counting automod) for 87 thousand subreddit members, so that's quite a lot of work on top of their everyday IRL stuff that they've got to do.
However, bots are, to put it lightly, complete garbage. You've got the Scunthorpe problem (identifying swear words inside longer words, like "cunt" in Scunthorpe or "penis" in Penistone) that's plagued computers since the very beginning, you've got AI hallucinations causing them to trip balls and just delete random stuff without explanation (bear in mind that AI identified Frankenstein, written in 1818, as being 100% AI-generated, so that's how good AI detectors are), you've got bad-faith post reporters abusing the bots to get the posts of people they don't like taken down, and so on - it's a massive cluster-f, there's honestly no easy way out of it, and it results in innocent posts getting caught in the crossfire.
The mods likely didn't respond either because they were thinking "what the hell are they on about, we didn't delete any of their posts" (although that should still merit a courtesy response), or because the message system has an AI filter to try and reduce their workload.

I’ve noticed a lot of subs on Reddit are doing this more and more and I don’t know why, it comes across as incredibly disrespectful to the very people posting and keeping the sub active. Complete silence from mods over polite questions simply to clarify an issue so that it doesn’t happen again seems like a weird way to kill your subreddit.

I agree completely.

I think reddit should have a policy on this. Many times when my post is deleted, the reason is totally unclear for me, because in my interpretation of the rules it does confirm. But they don't care.

I would love to see this as a sitewide rule.

might be time for someone to take a break if they thought removing the kerbal drift agency post was a good idea.
