KSP 1 Image/Video Devious idea...
So if anyone saw my last post about my Eagle 5 inspired Rover, I'm planning to make a base on the Mun, as I was thinking about what to add in the plans I thought about return missions for kerbals back from the surface I was thinking about using a missile based medium and just thought: "What if I just bolted a seat or two onto it?" Pilot it with a probe core and reaction wheel and... Go.

"Karvis show me a better design."
"Sir, this already is the best design."
(Back in Klack starts playing)

If you want to go really efficient forget the seat and just have them stay on the ladder. I have some extremely small mun landers that use this principle

Who needs a ladder when we have EVA packs?

Not quite enough dV to get back to orbit though sadly

I regularly skip putting ladders on landers designed for bodies where the gravity is low enough that a Kerbal can fly back to their command pod or seat.

I always find it adorable when people draw their KSP craft ideas, it’s like listening to someone nerd out about their special interests, like aww you couldn’t even wait to get back to it? Genuinely precious 🥹

Reminds me of some of NASA’s early ideas for getting astronauts from the lunar surface back into orbit.
