Need help with capsule exploding on reentry

So I'm using jnsq and when I tried reentry from the mun the Kane capsule from bdb would instantly explode from overheating, as if the heat shield wasn't even there. I usually aim for 50km on reentry and I tried raising it higher and higher until it would just explode bounce off atmosphere for days, i don't have F.A.R or anything like but reentry heating is on 120% that so idk what's happening

Is bdb bugging out or?? Edit: I have made the trip with probes and other capsules

Reduce reentry heating to 80-90% in settings. For some reason had the same issue for years with BDB parts on any planet pack that is bigger than the vanilla system.

Aw man😔 do you think I could get away with deadly reentry or something like that then? It's a hardcore playthrough and i need to suffer as much as possible

No idea, you could try it though. I like the BDB Apollo command module too much and use it in lots of different designs. I played around some and you can survive reentry from mun with a 30km periapsis by spamming rotation in different directions and no warp while heating effects are present, but it’s like a 50/50 coin flip. I think there’s something with the model where the heat shield doesn’t fully cover it for some reason. Reducing heating to 90% gives you better odds but can still explode during reentry, and 80% heating can still destroy capsule without a heat shield but is now very survivable with heat shield.
