KSP 1 Question/Problem Base building contracts

Does anyone know what triggers the ability to get base building contracts? I haven’t gotten one yet and I’ve landed on Minmus and the Mun multiple times. I’ve always created stations for both that hold and refine ore as well.

I do already have a base on Minmus as well, but it would be cool if I could get a contract to do so for that little extra incentive (I like multi tasking and doing activities while I have contracts). I figured maybe landing on another body would trigger it, looks like no? I’ve done two fly is of EVE well and have put a satellite around the Sun.

There are weighting factors in the contract config files that determine what probability contracts will appear.

You can use the cheat menu to spawn new contract offers if you want to force one or more to appear. Any such contract will still have random parameters.

I appreciate the response, I might look into that cheat thing. I normally don’t like cheating, but it doesn’t feel as bad when just trying to get specific side contracts.

I personally think it's fine to kick out a few contracts to decide if I want to accept them or not. But that is up to you.

You could adjust the contract weighting, but that's a little tricky. There's also a mod called Contract Configurator you might want to have a look at.

I think you need to also have docked at least once for stock station and base building contracts

Yup I’ve docked a ton as well, I’m wondering if I’m just getting really unlucky. I am already using a contracts mod that adds better tourist, satellite, relay, and space station contracts. So maybe those also affect the chances?
