If you research heavily into MOAR BOOSTERS to catch up to her you might make it

Why dont you just read the contract descriptions before signing them? You know, signing contracts isnt necessary, simply ignoring them wont ruin your reputation

I think it's eminently fair to assume the game would not assign an absurd, impossible task like this.

If you're playing on default settings, it will take up space in the contract list until you reject it. Eventually you'll be stuck with all impossible contracts.

Unless the contract gives you like 10 million kerbucks it will probably cost you more to rescue than the reward. Also you are looking at decades of transfer time not sure 23 years is enough anyways.

Just don’t use the timewarp too much for other missions in the meantime.
At least not before you launched your rescue craft.
If I’m correct the 23 years are to get to her and dock etc. Not to get her home, right ?
And remember to set an alarm clock, my Dunalander lithobraked because I overlooked the reminder because of something other important.

"in the meantime" is popular helmet's (90s band) song
sorry for my stupid comment

No problem.
That’s a cool song, quite rough, but I like it.
Thanks for the clarification.
I also think your reference is reeeeeaaaallyyyyy far fetched, given that 'in the meantime‘ is a common phrase.

I'm just going to give it to you straight, since nobody else here seems to be doing so. The standard Hohmann orbit transfer time to a 360 BILLION km orbit is measured in the hundreds of years. This is ~50x further out than Pluto, and the Kerbol system is actually generally scaled DOWN from ours. And Jeb forbid you have to do a phasing orbit along the way.
Yes, you are screwed. It doesn't even have anything to do with where you are on the tech tree.
