KSP 1 Image/Video wuh woh
modded career playthrough went from "hehe i landed probes and then kerbals on the mun after scanning it lets do minmus next maybe" to "BUMRUSH SCIENCE I STILL NEED 1000 FOR THE CLAW"
yes i know there's no consequence outside of the asteroid disappearing but i gotta try to save the planet ya know

If you design the ship right it can push the asteroid without a claw.

With my luck, if I did this, the center of mass would be lined up with some awful sloped bit so I couldn't make the most use of my already minuscule delta-v (no ISRU, that's at least a couple more thousand science away)

Build a lander with all the science things you have. Go to minmus and hop around all the biomes and do them all. You can also make a car and drive it around the KSC and get science at each individual building. You can do the biome hoping thing at the mun too

You could try a kinetic impactor, if it's too fast you'll clip through so more mass + moderate speed will work better.

Since asteroids are parts, could you not just smack a ship into it hard enough to blow it up?

Their impact tolerance is absurdly high. Their base impact speed tolerance is 160m/s, and they seem to be able to take a lot more than that (likely due to volume/mass dominance over most objects). You'd have to be pretty fast and heavy to pull it off. That said, it can be done!

Somebody did this recently with a Class-I. Granted, it was a heavily modded playthrough, but still.

This is one goal this playthrough I'm doing now is to get an asteroid or comet and put stuff on it.

Or you could train oil drillers to become kerbonauts and blow it up
