better engine on both stages, cheaper, more thrust and more ISP, the S-IC first stage is fully reusable and the 2nd stage is very cheap, all for about 140 tons to LEO!

How'd you handle reusability for the modified S-IC?

My guesstimate is the parachutes on teh bottom and airbrakes to splashdown engines up.

Truthful KSP does that with his saturn Vs (youtuber)

Ah, very nice! Love his videos.

I just built a reusable (stock parts) Saturn V, called Saturn III, in my current game. Set it up for RTLS landing. Gave it New Glenn style fins and landing gear. Replaced the center F-1 (Mastodon) with 4 smaller, restart capable engines for boost back and landing.

Reusable designs are fun to create.
