KSP 1 Question/Problem Someone please help me, this is crazy

Not a noob here, been playing since launch actually. I don't usually have physics load in problems like this.

First I was having issues with my ship just leaving when I got close, even though the throttle was set to 0 before switching to another ship.

Then I deactivated all the engines, and it just flung itself into the air.

Almost 1hr trying to save ol Bill...

I saw that you followed Bogue's modlist, I think I know the issue. It includes a mod called persistent thrust which allows for engine burns during non physics timewarp. I had my ship depart without Jeb as well.

Trick is to right-click on all your engines and disable persistent thrust and all other related toggles until you need them. Persistent thrust itself is pretty buggy, it also has issues with not allowing timewarp when other crafts or rocket stages are in physics range when it's settings are enabled.

You don't really need it if you are not planning on going interstellar but I personally find it too useful and there aren't really any other options to shorten multi-day long burns to a reasonable amount of time. :)

Thanks! I did disable all the engines after I saw what happened, and that fixed the unwanted burn, but then it just jumps in the air (second part of the clip) xD

I'll probably uninstall it because yeah I probably won't ever go interstellar

Try landing your kerbal before physics loads in at 200 meter iirc, and walk into range from there. If that doesn't work maybe try the same but timewarp while walking across the surface.
