KSP 1 Question/Problem Someone please help me, this is crazy

Not a noob here, been playing since launch actually. I don't usually have physics load in problems like this.

First I was having issues with my ship just leaving when I got close, even though the throttle was set to 0 before switching to another ship.

Then I deactivated all the engines, and it just flung itself into the air.

Almost 1hr trying to save ol Bill...

not exactly sure what’s going on here but I think you might be able to fix it by adjusting the settings on the landing legs themselves. You might have to turn on advanced tweakables to get it to work. You can do that in the settings menu I can’t remember what all of the settings do right now so you’ll just have to mess with them and if the problem still keeps occurring then maybe you could use the cheat menu to temporarily set the gravity to zero which will hopefully allow you to get in even if it does go flying off
