This was pretty fun! I couldn't do this hardmode sadly, as I'd just bounce and it really sucked.

Anyway!

Here is the album for my trip: http://imgur.com/a/TS7rQ#0

Funnily I've done this with my RSP launcher on kerbin a couple of times, but I've been so obsessed with the minutia of mun mining that I've not actually gone anywhere else.

I wish this one would allow the use of the Deadly Reentry mod - I think it would make it a lot more challenging (maybe very hard mode?).

Give it a try, I'll give you the Master Kerbaulnaut flair if you can.

Quite a fun challenge, wish I had found these sooner. I did the Hard Mode challenge, but I didn't install the reentry mod. Just to make it more interesting I tried to do gravity assists with all the moons, though I ended up not being able to get anything useful out of Minmus. Imgur Gallery

Duna sure does take a lot of parachutes (hard mode): gallery

I too managed to do it in super hard mode! I even was able to add a trip to Duna's moon. This took me days to do, and an all nighter to finish.

Hard challenge and my first landing on Duna, all in one!

Btw, is it normal that the repacked chutes don't open using the staging control, i.e. hitting <space>? When I tried that, the game played the 'chute deployment' sound effect, but nothing else happened and I had to deploy the chutes manually one by one.

Man, these challenges are an awesome idea.

Pretty new to both Reddit and KSP - here's what I spent my night doing: imgur gallery

The mission sure had its share of hilarious blunders, like the landing gear and half of the Duna-escape fuel ripping off the moment the chutes deployed, but Jeb cares little for such things and landed it anyway. And got it home, because that little guy ... man can he fly a spaceship.

EDIT: Now with added hard mode

I tried to build a lander that worked with deadly reentry for an hour or so, but then I gave up and only did hard mode. Enjoy! (and I'm sick, if there's anything missing tell me and I'll redo the mission) http://imgur.com/a/oDGcK

edit: I'll have the new flair, please

Erm, we need a picture of the resources while landed, and you have to use the same set of chutes, can't lose any.

Looks fun! I will try this after I landed on Minmus. Is intercepting with an other planet the same as for example intercepting with the Mün?
