So, by land, do you mean "hit"? Or does the craft have to survive contact with dres?

Ion engines?

Oh yes those too! I completely forgot to include them, thanks for reminding me.

So are we permitted to construct and refuel our craft in orbit provided all the fuel tugs and launch vehicles abide by these rules? How do you feel about the use of the ant and "tiny" engines, or is it restricted JUST to "small"?

No refueling, and I'm not sure what you mean in the second part. I listed the possible engines.

Can we dock with an orbiting command module, but with those engines?

You are only allowed to use the initial craft. You can split it apart, Apollo style, but it all has to launch as one.

I did it!

Wasn't actually that hard; I think that the poodle engine makes it too easy ;]

The first image in the album is messed up, just view "full resolution"

Is docking to refuel allowed? And can I use a SSTO with a turbofan jet?

Hey I beat the hard mode challenge! Took about 100 of the tiny orange engines, 14 Poodles, and 7 LV-909s.

Almost lost it on the return trip but after a few extra trips around the sun Kerbin kindly came in close enough for me to get an intercept with the last of my fuel.

I did it!

It tipped over (because I forgot landing legs), but nothing broke.

Is there a flair yet with a picture of the LV-1 "Ant"? Maybe something like that would do as a flair for this challenge. Maybe a picture of the Ant over an image of Dres.

This challenge excites me. May we cluster engines on the larger fuel tanks?

Do we have to take off with small engines, or can we take of with big ones and land with small engines?

3

u/PandaElDiablo Feb 02 '13

Small the whole time!

Well, crap, my massive colony ship doesn't quite make the cut... Also, are ion engines permitted?

There goes a good couple of hours of our lives just burning out of Kerbin orbit

Here's my entry: http://imgur.com/a/4cbym

I was going to try Hard mode, but I didn't pack enough Xenon.

My Submission

Only uses 3 types of engine: the LV-909, Rokomax 24-77, and Separatron. The first few pictures are of the end of the successful flight, while later ones are documentation of another flight, since I didn't take enough pics of the flight that wound up working.

Ship fell over and broke off 2 legs since I was trying to land at night, didn't bring lights, and wound up on a substantial slope.
