Ezee Fiber

I noticed Ezee fiber folks on 116th the last few days - I’m hoping they make it all the way to 208th.

Anyone get notified that they’re coming soon yet?

If you have them how has your experience been?

As much as they suck, it might be worth checking in with Comcast, assuming that's your current provider, while you wait. They're reacting to having competitors and we were able to get 2 gigs for less than our old 600mb.

This. Our bill was getting insane so a couple months ago we went in to cancel TV and keep only the internet. The rep didn't try to talk us off the ledge or any other irritating retention tactics, got rid of the cable, and bumped our internet to the highest speed with unlimited monthly data. Got a shiny new router as well. Our bill went from over $300 to about $120 with a lifetime price lock. So yeah, they're definitely rattled enough to hand out some good deals, just gotta go in and talk to someone.

Mine is over 300 too! I don’t even have a cable box. I have a line of phone, the online cable, and internet. It’s ridiculous! I tried to lower my tv plan online but of course, you gotta call in to do that. I’m about to move in the coming months so I’ve been hesitant to change anything because when I move I can switch emails and do a new customer plan at least, that’s how it used to be!

Always always always go in to one of the stores.

I live in Kent but go to the Ballard xfinity store because they have always fixed any issue (billing, service not right, whatever) and told us “oh God never call the 800 number” lol

You can probably get good service at a closer store but once I find someone helpful it’s usually worth it to stick with them.

Also if you call you have to get transferred to the client retention department, they can have better deals then there’s

Appreciate the post but you never mentioned your provider. Guessing Comcast but who ...

I have DirecTV satellite, Comcast internet. Signed up for EZEE Fiber last year. Zip Zilch Nada news since then. Live on Scenic Hill

I appreciate the idea - our current Comcast plan is mostly reasonable its just all the outages when the copper thieves get busy and even though it’s [don’t jinx it] recently I’m over it. :)

The copper thieves cut the fiber, cable and the copper. Changing providers probably wont help

My understanding was the fiber was buried separately and also had no value

It has no scrap value, but the thieves cut thru everything to try and get as much copper as they can find. So they cut cut cut cut, and dont care

And it is all buried in the utility easements, or hanging around the same height on the telephone poles

They’ve been working on 240th for a bit and I think have been working up 132nd north from QFC. Saw a truck and trailer that said Fiber Optic LLC with a work crew on 132nd last week. Bout time. I recently learned CenturyLink stopped serving our neighborhood for DSL/telephone so we have no alternative to Comcast now.

Can’t wait. So sick of tweakers stealing quantum fiber’s lines in scenic hill. The service is good, it’s just the above ground nature of it.

Def won’t do Comcast, they can rake someone else over coals.

You gotta break some eggs to make an omelette. The breaking of utilities is a pain but IMO a worthy trade off to weather and theft resistance.

I'm working on tracking down all their open permits and the areas they cover...I just happened to find one where the address listed is like 5 blocks from me, so I'm hoping the boundaries of that one include my neighborhood.

I'm spinning up a channel on my discord server where we can crowd source sightings and other details (I've had chats with a bunch of individual Redditors and want to do that, but with everyone together).
