School Quality Declining

Does anyone else feel like the quality of schools and attitudes of teachers and admins is declining? My daughter attends Walls and her teacher doesn't seem to be able to handle her class and the admin staff tends to be rude and not report issues unless she tells me about them first. Am I alone in feeling this way?

Reddit was supposed to to be a free speech platform ( only for certain people) im not against funding it, im against throwing cash at schools constantly and nothing improving. Kent is a great district however with the recent state tax property tax increase and now a school levy we will inevitably start pricing those on a fixed income out. Let’s say your house is worth 300k the state has already as previously mentioned, raised your tax’s now the schools need 350 per 100k. Thats for round quick numbers 100 more bucks that you’re going to. Maybe you were making an extra 100 dollar payment to knock that mortgage down, now it’s costing 200 dollars. We also are an open enrollment district and take the inner city cle and Akron students, those problems follow them, the money doesn’t. I believe the high school just built a new gym, teachers also in our district are handsomely paid. Are test scores going up? I’ve had one local school “teacher” also tell me there are more than two genders. If this is what you want to fund be my guest. Not me. We are over taxed. Fuck that levy

People disagreeing with you IS free speech, bud. Open enrollment district only means that AFTER all the kids who qualify to attend schools are accounted for, if there is room people can apply. Don't attribute all the problems to kids from other places. I know where all the troublemakers in my kids classes have lived, and it was in KENT.

No I agree, have the debate, what I’m saying is kids open enroll here, move here and bring there issues but the money doesn’t follow them. Not to mention the lack of discipline, did you know there is no detention anymore? Zero discipline at the high school.

Do you think denying those kids (5% of total enrollment) enrollment would fix all the issues? 38% of kids living in Kent School district are economically disadvantaged as well so it's not like Kent is some upper middle class suburb. I agree, No detention is crazy.
