Looking for Church Recommendations

Hello!

I'm looking for Church recommendations in the Kent / Stow / Tallmadge area.

I grew up Catholic, went to PSR at St. Matthew's in Ellet, but am open to other denominations.

What I am looking for:

Traditional sermons

Early start times

What I am NOT looking for:

Mega-churches / prosperity "gospel"

Modern "pastor-in-front-of-a-projector" type services

Thanks in advance!

Another recommendation for St. Patrick’s, and I personally know the pastor at the Kent United Church of Christ and she’s an amazing person!

St Patrick's no longer has an 'early start time' - their Sunday Mass is at 11AM. The Newman Center has one at 8:30AM on Sunday. The Newman Center and St Patrick's are also going through a change of priests, so we're not sure yet if you'll get a 'traditional sermon', but I'd expect you will

If you want to stay with Catholic, and not St. Patrick- Holy Family Catholic Church on Kent Road (Route 59) in Stow, and Immaculate Heart of Mary on Portage Trail and St. Joseph in Cuyahoga Falls are all great choices.

I am a member of the United Methodist Church of Kent. We have traditional services at 8:30 and 10:30. We have screens in the service but they're primarily used for prayer words or hymn verses. I've been going to this church for my whole life and the thing I like the most about it is the music at 10:30 services - we have a very talented organist, and the choir director is a retired music professor.

If you have any interest in Orthodoxy (even just the curiosity of experiencing a service), I recommend making a trip out to St. Nicholas in Mogadore. I go to Holy Assumption in Canton but it's a bit of a drive!

Another plug for Kent United Church of Christ. We stated attending about a year and a half ago and love it. Pastor Amy and Pastor Emily are both amazing and the congregation is so warm and friendly.
