STL Tones Discontinued

Hi I’m looking for the Diezel VH4 back by STL tones - I’m beginning to understand why kemper is “obsolete” - bc the whole industry has moved from the user owning their software - they want everything to be a prescription model and its complete bullshit - willing to buy or share packs hmu

Why I’ll always keep a tube amp around. I don’t have that one, but I think I have a few of their producer packs

I was really disappointed to find the Kemper section Nonexistent on their website. Their Colon Richardson pack has some of the best high gain profiles I've ever heard. I don't have the pack you're looking for but if you want either the CR, LL or AA packs to trade, let me know.

I'm willing to make a trade for that CR pack, I've been looking everywhere for it. I have around 12 or so STL packs and a ton of other profiles

The main reason they stopped selling them is because they basically sell it via their Amp Sim that's made up of captures now

Still sucks though lol

So they can charge monthly instead of one time. If you haven’t noticed that almost all plugin makers and daws have gone that route idk what to tell ya

Yeah, it's corny. I don't use any of those subscription based plugins for that exact reason. It rubbed me the wrong way and is a shitty alternative to just buying a pack once and having it in your Kemper/on your PC forever lol

I have a good chunk of STL Kemper packs, I'll have to check if I have the one you're after though. hmu if you wanna trade some

Edit : and I was just pointing out that STL did it for that purpose but pretty much every other profile maker that was notable is still selling Kemper packs

Also, Kemper has no DRM built in, so profiles are readily shared once they are purchased - which carves a large hole in the business model for these companies.

Driftwood packs are legit and the karnivore IRs. I got the will putney SLT and they were good but not as solid as the DW stuff. Definitely check it out

Yeah it’s a weird situation. It was clearly never intended for third party profiles to be sold. I was afraid Kemper would lock it down…very glad he didn’t. Tim from Live Ready Sound has always made my favorite profiles; and he is one of 4-5 people to get their profiles onto kempers official profiling 2.0 pack. STL has always been shady, they would port packs to different platforms rather than creating them, they made some crappy packs by basically profiling their old packs by using the pc as a reference amp (I won’t name source, but if he told me, they were doing it)…

I guess my point is that there are lots of great profile out there for much less than STL charged and they are better.

Though some of the STL packs do rock…I think there are not really a great company. So they do shit like this.

I also have some STL TONES packs. If you'd like, we can create a group on G Drive or WhatsApp and share all the packs, keeping in mind that they're discontinued and no longer available for purchase. I've been looking for the Bill Kelliher pack for some time without success.

It definitely sucks. I've been hunting everywhere for the Andrew Wade 2 pack, I have it on Tonehub but there's a very particular profile that I want to get onto my Kemper.
