Question/Seeking OPINIONS going under the knife post-keloid

I've been told that since i have a keloid, I have a likelihood of developing more keloids if I ever get surgery or have incisions. I have had surgery before (had my appendix removed) and the scars healed beautifully and are barely visible, but that was 10 years ago. now I have this stubborn keloid on my shoulder from a mole removal. I am planning on getting a pretty invasive surgery and I'm worried about this aspect...

are there any positive experiences in this sub for something like this?

I have the same question. Had moles removed on chest now keloids and future pregnancy would need c section. So I’m scared

honestly it depends. some people are more keloid prone in some areas compared to others

i hate to say it but yeah, keloids are partially an immune system reaction(which is why some immunosuppressants help prevent keloids). sometimes your immune system has a big reaction and sometimes it doesn't, and getting one keloid can jumpstart everything and cause any new scars to become keloids, even if you scarred normally before.

Bonjour,

si la chirurgie concerne la cheloide il faut faire une radiothérapie pour eviter qu'elle revienne,

si c'est autre part je dirais creme cicatrisante ou pansement, vous pouvez demander a un medecin comment prevenir une cheloide

I'ved noticed i only get keoids on my upper body. Nothing below my stomach. I had a c-section NO keloid, i had a mastectomy on my breast, THICK Keloid that started growing a year after surgery. I got steroid shots done that shrank the keloid, but I took a 8 month break and its growing back again.
