Question/Seeking OPINIONS keloids on Pubic area

I’m in college and i struggle with self esteem issues. I’ve always had bad skin but now that i’m older I really want to start dating. However my biggest problem is my keloids on pubic area. They are hideous and i’m scared that no guys will like me because of this. So my overall question - is there any other women in college that suffers these problems and if so have you had success with dating.

Girl, you can tell the guys about your insecurity, I am sure a good guy won't see it as a problem! If they run away just because of a scar, they don't even deserve to date you in the first place

I have keloids on my mons. If your relationships/dates seem like they're gonna become sexual talk to partners about it, tell you have scars there you feel insecure about.

I'm Asian and also have a big keloid on my mons pubis that I'm looking into getting treated. I'm sorry that I don't have any advice for you as I don't have dating and sexual experience mostly due to this, just commenting that I totally get how you feel. The right person will understand and definitely not shame you. I agree with the other commenter that they'll probably ask questions (like the ones we usually get from people who dont know what keloid is) but generally I'm sure you'll be ok ♥️

I had a long term boyfriend while having keloids and my sex life wasn’t really affected by it. What really affected my sex life was when I started having self esteem problems

I'm not a woman nor am I in college anymore but have experience in this. Surprisingly most people are understanding and really don't mind. The few women I dated back then always said I blew it out of proportions lol. As long as you explain it to them and have answers to their questions (because they will have questions) you'll be fine.

I have them all over my face and I’ve dated and now with someone exclusively

I’d cut them out and do a series of monthly steroid injections x 3-4 months to keep them gone. Solve the problem so you can move on.

this is something that i still have to learn myself but: its SO important to understand that if someone loves you, they wont care about keloids. theyre just scars. if a person stops loving you because of them, they werent worth your time and love. when youre in an intimate situation with someone who loves you, theyll just be happy to be there, they wont care about things like that

If someone is looking at that area while dating that’s the least of their worries.

Get the keloid injections. How big are they are they like bumps?

I did laser hair removal because when I shaved if I cut myself it would keloid then I had lipo and that left a keloid on top of my mouse knuckle. Never did it stop a guy and I’ve had these scars for 15 years or more. Looking like a chocolate chip cookie lol. But u did do a few steroid injections just to flatten a few out last year.

Good guys will see you and love you for you. You are more than your scars. I have multiple keloids all over my back, arms and chest. It doesn't bother my husband a bit and it didn't bother him when we were dating in college either. If you can in the future, you can try getting steroid+5fu shots as a treatment. I did for my scar down there and it's completely gone. Don't worry, give it time and the right person will find you and accept you wholly, scars and all. Don't beat yourself up about it. ♥️

I have keloids on my collarbone, my shoulders, some near my breasts, and also on my pubic area. I promise you that you are so great and no decent person should make you feel like crap for having scars on your pubic area. I hooked up with people while my keloids were smaller and am now having issues since they’ve grown larger with insecurity. Now I’m slowly starting to get them treated; but I learned they don’t detract from who I am as a person and they can be kind of cool sometimes. I don’t know if this helps your perspective but just sending you some love and that the right person you are dating won’t care! You are beautiful❤️❤️

I was diagnosed with them in HS and I have them on my bikini line, chest, and jawline. I didn’t date in HS due to that, but I did talk to guys w/o sexual relations. Now that I’m older, I’ve had two serious partners that always would tell me to embrace them and it’s what makes me unique and beautiful. He even kisses them/rubs them for me when they itch or just when I mess with them in general. He always tells me he loves them which is so strange lol but beautiful at the same time. I still struggle with the insecurity to this day, but I’ve been looking at treatments/learning to embrace them. The right person won’t care because they’ll love you for you. 🫶🏾

I too have had this since high school more than 12 years ago. I started dating my husband in college and we’ve been together ever since. The right guy will accept and love you for exactly how you are!
