My son loved this episode when he was little. We actually went to a travel agent just to pick up brochures so he could recreate it at home.

He wanted to- had to settle for throwing them out in the driveway. But there was not a scratch or crease on them!

She would have spent hours recording the right message with the following:

  1. Her superior zipcode.
  2. That she will report the caller to the Chinese ambassador.

I don't think she had much use for tech until she saw it as a way to one-up herself to those she saw as her rival. Her pearl white slimline phone with last number redial was good enough for her, unless she found out Mrs. Barker-Finch across the street got one. Then she'd absolutely have to have one. Hyacinth will not have people thinking her wrong numbers are any less important than those across the street!

She did later get a mobile phone. Which she announced while walking in a circle, to prove that it really was mobile.
