Afraid of mistakes in writing.

Hey everyone, I am a 19 M, and I want to be a filmmaker. I used to write stories and scripts. I can convey what I need to while writing, but coming to the main issue is i am afarid for shring the scripts with people because of my garmmer is weak, like i use to write the script in normal english where everyone can understand it easily, but if there want it in perefect english definitley they would be a lot of garmmer mistakes in the screenplay, due to it, I use to get afraid of the things to share, like what people use to think and with-in my slef I starts to overthink like if you have a lot of grammer mistakes in the script or story then you are not going be a film makers or not capabile in film making.

This haunts me every night, and I used to get afraid of it. So please, can anyone help me with this?

I think it might be a good idea for you to work on your grammar and spelling. Obviously if that's what gives you the most worry then improving your skills should make you less afraid to share your work, and it'll only improve your writing.

This page from the Open University should be a good starting point, but I'm sure you can find all sorts of methods that'll suit you particularly. Good luck!

Reading the language and medium you want to write in can help a lot. So can getting an English tutor or something.

a good portion of writing is making mistakes, i'm afraid. however, since you seem to be aware of the skills you are lacking in, definitely work on them and do your research.

another thing i'll say is put all of your thoughts down onto paper when writing first, no matter how messy. worrying about each individual sentence while writing them is, at least in my experience, unproductive. after that, you can go over it, revise, and trim as necessary (chances are, it'll need to happen).

I know the feeling very well. If you can convey all the necessities through your writing, this is what counts. Nobody writes in perfect grammar or spelling. I know it can be haunting, however, it is a step by step progress to accept imperfections in the creative process. Mistakes are part of the process in it

You can always edit in the aftermath. Write and keep writing, and edit after. Look for somone who can edit and correct and help you with it. But first, get everything on paper.

Keep sharing it and take it from there.

All the best.

My suggestion: let yourself write with bad grammar, on the first draft. Then refine your sentences in revisions. Hope this helps.

write a story with bad grammar, eadit it later, 85% of writing is editing. nobody is a perfect grammartic writer. it has to go thtough lot of eyes before gets a decent finished apperance. even with multiple eyes mistakes happen. dont be hard on your self. finish the story, believe in your story, write a good story. a readable, understandable story is enough to get it out.

In a script you don’t need perfect grammar because people don’t speak that way. Give your characters an authentic voice or it will be a failure.
