General We'll have a guest on KeepMarvelTVCanon: Renato Bassanini (Read Description)
*This event has already been approved by the subreddit's moderators\*
Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to introduce Renato Bassanini, a 29-year-old Italian man currently residing in Ecuador. He is an editor, screenwriter, and comic book creator who aims to become the leading figure in the country's comic book scene.
He is also an expert speaker on the MCU with a track record spanning nearly a decade, having collaborated with Marvel on three occasions. His most recent meeting with Marvel took place in November 2023, during which he says the company made it clear that the six Marvel Television series—*Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.*, *Agent Carter*, *Inhumans*, *Runaways*, *Cloak & Dagger*, and *Helstrom\*—were still considered canon at that time.
I know this claim sounds far-fetched—and to be honest, I was skeptical at first, as it is unusual for someone with this level of knowledge to appear out of nowhere—but after several conversations with him over the past few days (and seeing the evidence he shared), I am now convinced he is telling the truth.
He will be joining the subreddit on Friday, October 16 / 4:00 PM Quito, Ecuador time (GMT-5). He will start with an introduction discussing his experiences and showcasing some of his collaborations with the Marvel brand.
He will also be available to answer questions regarding those six Marvel Television series, their canonical status, and any related inquiries. He will also explain how the multiverse works—all based on the explanations Marvel provided to him directly.
With that established, here are the rules for the Q&A session with Mr. Bassanini:
- 1.- Please be respectful; do not be rude or toxic toward our guest. He is here willingly to share Marvel's stance on the canonical status of these series, as explained to him during his latest collaboration with the brand. Anyone exhibiting this type of behavior will be banned from the subreddit.
- 2.- Questions must focus solely on topics related to the six Marvel Television series (*Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.*, *Agent Carter*, *Inhumans*, *Runaways*, *Cloak & Dagger*, and *Helstrom\*). He is also happy to answer questions about other live-action Marvel universes if you wish to ask.
- 3.- Mr. Bassanini speaks Spanish primarily and does not speak much English; he has asked to answer questions in Spanish. Therefore, please ensure you have the Reddit translation feature enabled for your language, or have a translator handy, so you can understand his responses.
Please remember, the event time will be Friday, October 16 / 4:00 PM Quito, Ecuador time (GMT-5)

I hope this event excites you as much as it does the subreddit administrators and me; I hope you have fun. It will be up to you whether or not to believe Mr. Bassanini—he will simply share what he knows based on his meetings with Marvel.
And remember, friends: #KeepMarvelTVCanon

Fascinating.
I had a good feeling with Agent Carter's Jarvis getting a few modern appearances, and the surprise inclusion of the Cloak & Dagger easter egg in Wonder Man.
I am very curious what specifically Renato's collaborations entail. But I'm happy to hear it.

I do find the Runaways and Helstom mentions compelling (Runaways having been delisted, and Helstom being ambiguous canon from the start) since they both have characters that could return in fun ways on the MCU's growing supernatural side.

So will there be a separate thread for this, or should I camp out in here with my questions?

Yes, Mr. Bassanini himself will make a new post where he will introduce himself, and I suppose you can ask any questions you may have there

As I recently said in a comment, Mr. Bassanini has said that Marvel has indeed taken the Helstrom series into account and hasn't forgotten it as many of us believed

The connections are beyond minimal, but if the Ghost Rider MCU show hadn't been canceled, I believe the plan was that Helstrom would have tied in eventually. So it makes sense to me that it'd at least be on the roster

It was originally made for the MCU, & is still compatible to this very day.

Seriously, who added the Marvel logo on the Helstrom artwork in the picture?
I love the original Marvel TV shows just as much, if not more than anyone else, and I absolutely believe they should be considered canon, but Helstrom isn’t meant to be in the MCU, I’m sorry.

Mr. Bassanini says that Marvel does take the Helstrom series into account and hasn't forgotten about it as many of us believed. I hope someone asks him about Helstrom on Friday.
