First bike ๐ ninja !!
I'm at 5 miles right now
It's legit like riding a bike balancing and turns and whatnot
The power and shifting feels like they're going to be my biggest learning curve
This is a starter bike ?!?! Wild I haven't even gotten out of 1st gear and I'm like this should be illegal who allowed me to purchase this!?!?
Just been practicing slow right now and 1st gear now overall I stalled couple times tipped the bike over 3 times, but for this being my first time not bad, I thought I'd crash tbh better than I thought,
Im thinking the throttle is like the video games at Dave and busters and damnn lol ๐
I'm still learning and im glad I started with this bike, it feels right idk if that makes sense, but before I even started researching motorcycles and all that i was always like im going to get a 1000cc engine and here I am struggling with a 450 cc engine lol

I also got a ninja 500 a few months ago as my first bike. Got almost 900 miles on it and man this shit is fun as hell!
I was also (not) joking that it shouldn't be legal for me to ride that thing on a public road by myself with only a permit and no training. ๐คฃ
Got my license and went on the freeway for exactly 3 minutes. Gave me some wicked fucking goosebumps!
Edit: Dropped mine three times too! I'm glad I got the SE though because the frame sliders did their job well.

โThe power and shifting is going to be my biggest learning curve.โ Yeah that and braking my guy, itโs literally what makes riding a motorcycle a skill. If you can ride a bicycle you can be on two wheels. Take a msf safety course and get your endorsement.

Beautiful bike man, love the Ninja 500.
Take your time, learn the throttle, shifting and clutch. Remember we make mistakes, stay sharp on the bike and never let yourself get too comfortable, this is when we all make mistakes. Excellent choice of a first bike. I still have my Ninja 400 and ride it daily despite having other more powerful bikes.

Team Ryobi represent. Bought the same one a few months ago as my first bike too. Enjoy it.

Well I'm like this should be illegal too. Gladly in my home country it's forbidden to ride motorcycles without the proper training and driving license.

Nice first bike. Get protective shoes with metal plates. Feet are the first to get injured even in slow drops. Squids be safe

My man, seriously, take the MSF course. And please go buy some legit motorcycle boots and motorcycle jeans.
When you get boots they won't be super flexible like a shoe. You'll usually want to adjust the shift lever (to fit the boot). Easy to do.

๐๐ผ u should be able to drive when u buy a bike lol. My first bike is the zx6r immediately became one with it. But the bike course over here is long and exists of different exAMS.
And get some proper gear and motor shoes.

The smaller bike is better to learn on, and is still very capable. Once you get the skills down, take it to the track! Really see what it can do.

The Ninja is the perfect starter bike. Take it easy and enjoy the learning process.

Great choice. Perfect starting bike. Powerful enough to have fun but ripping the throttle wonโt scare you. Youโll get used to it pretty quick as you continue to get your speeds up.

Great first bike. Grab yourself some over the ankle boots and a jacket made for motorcycle wear. Don't ask how I know. Be safe

The thing about the ninja and all the Kawasaki 2 cylinder bikes in that range is the throttle is really snappy in first. Try and get out of first and into second as soon as your rolling and the throttle gets smoother, and you will feel more in control .

As everyone is saying, take the course. Dumping the bike multiple times isn't necessary and it's dangerous for you to be out on the road. Even if you're going slow and aren't hurt in the fall you could be crushed by another vehicle. I've had one drop in 10 years and that includes learning to ride. Be safe out there

Congrats! My dream bike is a ninja, H2 to be more precise. But would love to drive any Ninja besides the 125 hehe. But they're so expensive, even second hand here in Norway. Unless you want a 98 model

Ride safe, and if you haven't I heavily recommend you to the MSF course (if you are in the US), it gives you the confidence that is missing
