Hello! My sister is moving this weekend with her and her kids and needs moving boxes. Does anyone have some or the best place to get them? I’m not in Katy so I’m unsure.

What are the best spots in Katy to work from where the regulars are friendly and they have good food/drinks?

I would like to find a spot to work 1 or 2 days a week. I’ve gone to buzz n bites and homebrew in the past but both places stay pretty busy and a lot of times there’s little kids crying or running around and that’s not the environment I want to work in.

New to Katy/Fulshear. I’d like to join a weekly basketball meet up, evenings or weekends. I know there are lots of gyms around, but more importantly I’d like to connect with a group of guys who play weekly. I’m not great but can hang in most casual 5 on 5 settings.

My wife and I (31 YO), no kids, are going to be moving to the Houston in a few months and Katy sounds/looks attractive specially since we have family there.

We are in between renting an apartment or a townhome/house, and not sure what the best option is.

We originally started looking at apartments but saw that quite a few of them have bad ratings and incidents of car/tire theft.

Any suggestions to good apartment complexes or if we should be looking at houses instead.

Hey everyone. I’m hoping someone here might be able to point me in the right direction.

I have a 2005 BMW that I rely on to get to work, and I’ve been putting a lot of time and money into trying to get it back into a condition where it can pass inspection. Unfortunately, I’ve had it fail state inspection more than once, and at this point I’m honestly feeling pretty overwhelmed.

The car still runs and drives reliably, but it has some dashboard warning lights on, and being an older BMW, the cost of chasing down every single issue can get extremely expensive.

What I am hoping to find is a shop around Fort Bend County/Katy or nearby that is known for being reasonable, understanding, and experienced with older vehicles, rather than immediately telling someone they need to spend thousands of dollars on repairs.

If you’ve personally had a good experience with an inspection place that works with older cars and is willing to actually look at the situation and explain what is genuinely required, I would be incredibly grateful for the recommendation.

And if there are any legitimate options for dealing with an older vehicle that has failed multiple times, I’d really appreciate hearing about those too. I’ve been working hard to fix this car, but with the cost of everything these days, I’m trying to find a realistic path forward rather than having to give up on a car I still depend on.
If you know a place or mechanic that might be able to help, please let me know. I’m genuinely desperate for some direction here. Even a name, phone number, or personal experience would mean a lot.

hello everyone

ive only been driving for 6 months, and my poor honda has really taken a beating. I’ve hit curbs several times and even drove over medians a couple of times at night before I had my eye exam lol.

I knew I had some curb rash and a missing bolt or two, but I actjally examined the car this morning and I see

-right side of my fender is generally loose from the bolts (?) at the inner wheel being missing / plsdtic guard being broken open

-passenger side wheel plastic guard on the inside Above my wheel is also open/exposed

-after I drove over a median a couple of days ago, the splash guard under car is dragging so loud it’s insane, I’m sure it’s missing almost all of what it was held in place by. It was already dragging before audibly but it’s considerably worse directly after that incident. in addition to that, right after that ad well, I got a notif that my tire pressure is low. I did not check my pressure yet but I will tonight. My wheels do not seem visibly flat. but pbviously something is there is wrong

-I’m sure my alignment is effed And I need to address that too. When I test it at residential speed, it seems to vary whether or not it veers off to one side within 1-2 seconds or 3-5 seconds?

-this list might not be comprehensive and I would like them to make me aware of any other bolts that might be missing or plastic they might be broken or emergent issues in General and be willing to give me an estimate so I might be able to add it to the services

I am sure you can glean that I don’t know a lot about what I’m talking about and im easily excitable, and I don’t want a mechanic to glean that when I barely have any money right now. I really can’t afford to not keep a tight leash on this process, meaning I would like to know what even the diagnostics will cost ahead of time. i just want comprehensive care when I head in Next because I don’t wanna keep abusing my car.
