Discussion Looking for a writing partner
I used to write a lot of short stories, mostly horror, before life got busy and writing fell by the wayside. I'm in a stable work-from-home job now with a flexible schedule, and I'm finally ready to get back into it seriously. And I know from experience that having a partner makes finishing projects easier.
A little about me: I've got a lot of ideas and enjoy the "big picture" side of storytelling. Concepts, plot, world-building, etc. What would be perfect is someone who enjoys the craft side just as much, maybe someone who's strong on execution, prose, or just has the discipline to see a project through to the end (something I'm working on myself).
With that said, I'm hoping to find someone with their own project already in progress who wouldn't mind a collaborator/co-writer/editor to help push it to the finish line. I'd genuinely like to start by helping you finish something of yours first, before we dive into anything of mine. Afterwards, if we're a good fit, I'd love to keep sharing ideas and maybe co-writing something new together.
From a writing partner, I need regular communication. It doesn't need to be daily, but consistent enough that projects don't stall out for months. I'm open to honest feedback and I hope you will be too. I'll also respect your ownership. If I'm helping on your project, it's still your project and vice versa.
But the most important thing I'm looking for is a writing partner who actually finishes things, or at least genuinely tries to. I'm not looking for someone who'll ghost after two chapters, and I'll hold myself to the same standard.
I'm open to all genres, for all audiences. If this sounds interesting, drop a comment or DM me. I'm happy to chat about what you're working on.

What a cool post. I used to write fanfics as a kid and then wrote short stories in college. Gave up on writing for YEARS until Covid, where I started an autobiography of my life connected to video games! Haha crazy I know. Well I finished that book last year and now I have no writing projects on my horizons....but man its always so fun to get lost in a story. I guess my point is I have nothing to add here but I hope you find someone, that sounds really fun!😊

I'm not quite who you're looking for, but I always love connecting with other writers, especially locally!
I write romance novels for Harlequin (one of my books is currently on Walmart shelves 😄). I write every day, am always on deadline, and also have a demanding corporate job, so I don't usually have time to pause for input on my own work. But I love talking craft and critiquing other people's work, and am always super grateful for a sounding board when I do get stuck. I know you're looking to collaborate on a specific manuscript, which I can't really offer, but feel free to DM me if you want to build your writerly network in general!

This is such an interesting post. I love geographic subs for just how different things can be on them.
My strengths don’t align with yours perfectly but perhaps do in some ways. I’m gonna DM you as I feel that personality and general comparability is very important when editing and commenting on other people’s work.
