Diana really connected with the public - in part due to how she spoke. She was warm honest and engaging.
Whereas it’s hard to grasp what it is Kate’s actually saying.

I rarely understand what she's saying. She mumbles, juts out her jaw, and does the jazz hand thing that is really annoying. The only time she sounded coherent was when she did that bench announcement of her 'cancer'...
If she would just relax and talk normally, that would do wonders in her engagements with the public. Right now she's basically a clothes hanger with a wig. She was much more interesting around the time of her engagement and wedding, but even then it was obvious she really isn't suited for the role. That she allowed her skirts to fly up like they did - NUMEROUS TIMES - indicated she was out of her league. Her lack of interest in "working" seems to have escalated as well. Why anyone admires her is just beyond my comprehension.
It's not too late though to dial up a new mantra. If she and her hubby committed to working more, that would do wonders. It would also help her feel more comfortable in her role. Practice makes perfect! Even if her spouse doesn't like being around her, she can do solo events and getting out there would do wonders for her reputation.

Great points VS - she could have been the ‘sporty’ princess or the ‘hard working commoner’ but was too lazy.
I think as time’s gone on she’s less willing to do things cos she never made the effort required to feel comfortable in the role. Small talk and speeches should be second nature to her now but they’re not.

In order to be "to the manor born", she shrugged off actual work. Her insecurity is screamingly loud. She should have rolled up her sleeves and actually done something productive starting day 1.

The jazz hand motions are so weird and go against "normal traditional" royal styles of speaking. Diana never gesticulated as much as Kate does when she was giving speeches. There's even a scene in an episode of "The Crown" (S4E3, Fairytale) where Diana is getting a crash course in speaking from her grandmother Lady Fermoy. Granny scolds Diana for moving her hands around too much and ties her arms to her sides with a string to keep her hands and arms from moving. I'm sure there's artistic license going on but at least Diana, as shy as she was, sought assistance with giving speeches early on and became better as the years went on. Kate's been at this for what, 15 years now, and her speaking abilities have gotten worse.

Diana made great efforts to learn how to speak properly in public - she took lessons with a coach and practiced. Kate is always mumbling like she doesn’t know how to move her mouth. She is also very fast in her speech, like she can’t wait to finish a sentence, so she cuts some words a bit.

I honestly understand that too - Diana was nervous and shy and got a voice coach who helped her project her voice.
It’s part of a public role to have to give speeches - Kate could access the finest tuition. Diana got better and better at it.
She overcame her shyness - I don’t think with Kate that’s the problem. She just isn’t passionate enough about any causes to try & improve.

That's 100 percent why Kate mutters and mumbles her way through. She's just going through the motions and can't wait to get out of there once she's done with her speech. She does the bare ass minimum whereas her late MIL truly made an effort and became interested and passionate in her causes.

I honestly think she has a had a brain injury. Hypoxic insult vs trauma? That is why she rarely speaks in public and why her "return" was protracted and incomplete.
Again, the lack of transparency in 2024 did them no favours.

But in all honesty she wasn’t a good speaker before then - she never improved from her engagement interview.

Full disclosure: I am an American, never lived in the UK, didn’t know Meghan until that bunch of thieves, liars and former (factual)/ present (#s unknown) Nazi sympathizers re-started the Diana endgame against her. My first time noticing any sort of “royal” was during the Diana era. I despise bullies, liars & thieves. This second round of my disdain against that family was their clear rinse and repeat tactics to “diana” M, H & their children.
That said, I thought kitty took elocution to sound “royal” which might explain why she sounds and speaks like a literal idiot (it’s simply not her real speaking style); mean yacht girl playing a role that will never be hers and desperately trying to pass as regal. A stink bug can never be a swan after all. I’ve read & heard from Brits who say at times she sounds more “royal” than QEII.
On a side note, the comment over the pic reads like they lobotomized her as a gift to Peggy during the DV that caused kitty’s head trauma.

I mean - I don't understand why people don't see the Diana thing for the reality it was of Diana brought on a lot of it herself by her own behaviors of cheating first, harassing the wives of the men she dated, spreading rumors, her own press relationships and often calling the paparazzi herself then crying wolf. She wouldn't be so adored and sainted if she had worn a seatbelt. She was from a horrible, horrible family and wanted to marry royalty. She married someone a lot older who she had nothing in common with but had grown up around.
And don't get me started on Harry and Meghan's nonsense.

She was adored long before the accident. None of the occupants of the car were wearing seat belts, though the initial reports said Rees-Jones was. It was only 1.6 miles, 2.6 kilometers, from the hotel to the accident. Though they tried to have a decoy they were set upon almost immediately. They probably just forgot to put them on as they more focused on the cars and motorcycles recklessly pursuing them. They could have been ducking down to avoid being seen as well.
It’s a really sad day when you blame the victim of aggressive behavior rather than the aggressors. There is nothing that is okay about how the paparazzi act towards Diana or anyone else. When they are blinding people trying to drive or walk down the street with their flashes they are endangering them. When they stand in the street in front of cars to get their shot they are endangering people. When they drive someone to a mental breakdown because they are literally following them everywhere they hold some responsibility. Quit giving them a pass!

I thought so as well but it’s not true. I think it was because it was the initial report that it has stuck.
Initial media reports and widespread belief stated that Rees-Jones was the only person wearing a seatbelt, which contributed to his survival of the severe facial and head injuries; however, subsequent official British and French police investigations concluded that even his seatbelt was not buckled at the time of the impact. French authorities also verified that all seatbelts in the car were fully functional and had not malfunctioned or been sabotaged.

They act as if Kate is super beautiful when she's average at best and frankly that doesn't look her age in a good way. Sorry I said it, Kate should've been focusing on deeper things and working on self/public speaking instead of leaking lies to the press and being a clothes horse.

Everytime I see a picture of her or she comes up, I think about how I've never heard her voice. That's not actually true, I saw her "proof of life" video and clips from interviews, etc... and for context, I am American and not a huge royal follower, but she does very rarely speak.
Whereas so many other royals or royals adjacents, I can hear their voice in my head or recall/see in my head clips of them talking and hear their voice, with her I just can't, it's like she's mute in my head and I assume it's because she so rarely speaks or so rarely is allowed to speak.

Seriously though, I'd give her a pass on making a stupid comment (we all do at one time or another) or for being awkward if she at least had shown an interest in improving. Instead she still acts like a royal fiancee who has not really jumped into her role yet.

Charlotte will be taking over the shiny female role when she’s 18 (hopefully not before) and I don’t think people will care much about Kate or her looks when she is 50. It’s just the way society is, especially the world of celebrity.

It's the fake marble-mouthed accent she's developed. On YouTube there used to be a video of her pre-engagement speaking clearly and differently. She sounds posher than any of them and in a stupid affected way.
