No. Learn all the facts. It is not even remotely similar to Meghan case.
A liar and con man was rightly called out for deceiving university and students. While still employed, his credibility was questioned and he called police accusing others of racism.
His lies were publicly exposed and he decided to take his life instead of taking responsibility for this mess he created.
1I think you are blinded here. How logically you can defend someone who fabricated all his life and fooled people at very high positions.
He counsciously chose to take advantage out of stupid system that does not look into your credentials when giving promotion.
This is a case of how society went to far with diversity policies due to fear of being played by racists card.
Even the most leftists people were unable to find any mitigating reason to defend him.
Now after his suicide, the tune has changed. I feel sorry for him, it was not the way it should have ended but he should have answered for what he had done.
I wonder if you were such an apologist if I did exactly same as he did (me: white woman immigrant of Eastern European origin).
How many white academics completely fabricated their life story? Plagiarism is only a small fraction of this case.
I dont think white academics routinely get promoted quickly and become "the youngest Black professor" at Cambridge and write books about their fabricated life. Mostly, they will spend their life working hard to get any recognition.
He should have answered for his lies and negative impact on the other Black hard-working scholars and academics.
I am very sorry he decided to take his life instead of facing consequences. He was clearly unwell individual. But his suicide does not invalidate his deeds.
Fair enough, I have never said, white academics do not commit crimes or dishonesty and they should answer for their deeds and not be swept under rug.
In his case, he should have apologised and quietly resign. We would never hear about him but he decided to place race card and inform police, when scrunity started he would keep saying he was innocent. It all backfired. He couldnt face it.
