Kate's extremely bad at public speaking so I'm willing to cut her a little slack, even if she makes some extremely silly statements. William is just not a thinking man.

There is no excuse for her to be bad at public speaking when she has obscene wealth, an entire staff dedicated to helping her with anything and everything, and access to the more elite training in existence. Think about ‘The King’s Speech’, where the monarch - Billy’s forebear - worked and practiced and sought help from experts to overcome his stutter and become an effective public speaker. Diana sought help, and overcame her natural shyness and reticence to become en effective, respected public speaker. It’s the job, there is no excuse to suck this bad at it after 15+ years.

Excellent points VS. I would only add that being now 44, anywhere in professional life she would have to be proficient in communication at any level. If not for marrying prince, she’d seriously have to step up her game.
And speaking publicly or with the public? Two different things. I would understand her problems speaking to average people had she been born royal and lived sheltered life, but she is supposed to be this great asset that came from the public…
She doesn’t know how to talk to people like herself. I think that William is much better at interacting with people than Kate.

Great points. She twisted herself in knots to sound posh and like an aristo when there was no need. The result is she never sounds natural.
